May God rise again and Psalm 26 90. Orthodox books. Should you trust magicians and sorcerers?

In the spiritual environment, there is one tradition of holy ascetics about the prayer rule of calling on God’s special help: “Whoever in the morning before the morning prayers reads the 26th, 50th and 90th psalms, even if the guns fire, nothing will happen to him.”

The writer Sergei Alexandrovich Nilus and his wife Elena Alexandrovna, during a conversation with the Optina elder Father John (Salov), received the following order: “If the enemy shoots his arrows at you, do not be afraid! None of them will affect you, just take my advice as a rule, listen: read in the morning and evening before your prayer both of these psalms - the 26th and the 90th, and before them the great Arkhangelsk joy - “Virgin Mother of God, rejoice.” If you do this, neither the fire will take you, nor the water will drown you... - I’ll tell you more: it won’t tear you apart with a bomb!”
“And the bomb won’t explode!..” Prediction of Fr. John (Salov) was exactly fulfilled during the Civil War. According to the memoirs of M.V. Smirnova-Orlova, Elena Alexandrovna told her that once, when she and her husband were riding in a tarantass under fire, a bomb exploded next to them, but they were not hit at all.

Elder Schema-Archimandrite Vitaly (Sidorenko) (1928-1992) was a pupil of the great elders of the Glinsk Hermitage. He walked the path of life both as a monastic novice, and as a wanderer-fool, and as a hermit monk, finally appearing as a shepherd of many of Christ’s sheep. As a true Christian, he fulfilled the Gospel with his whole life. Father advised in the morning, when leaving the house, to read Psalms 26, 50 and 90, and between them, at the beginning and at the end, one prayer, “Rejoice, Virgin Mary.” After that, he said, if a shell or bullet explodes nearby, or a fire happens, no trouble will touch you. “Read Psalms 26, 50, 90, and the Lord and Mother of God will bestow Their mercies,” said the elder.

Holy Righteous Theodore Ushakov, Admiral Russian fleet, glorified by the Church as a saint, held 40 major naval battles and did not suffer a single defeat, did not lose a single ship, not a single sailor was captured. His ships bore the names of saints and Orthodox holidays. Sailors loved him. The admiral’s main parting words before the battle were: “Brothers, read Psalms 26, 50 and 90, and neither a bullet nor a saber will take you!” [Magazine “Sofia. Wisdom of God" No. 3 2008, p. 52] All the warriors of St. right Theodore Ushakov read the 26th, 50th, 90th psalms and “Let God rise again...” before the battle. These psalms and prayer were their shield from physical danger.

Based on the experience of life and the Church, this rule is supplemented here with some more short prayers, through which the special intercession of God was also revealed.

The Orthodox ascetic and confessor of the 20th century, Schema-nun Nila (Evdokia Andreevna Kolesnikova, 1902-1999), at the age of 12, went to a monastery, where at the age of 18 she was tonsured with the name Euphrosyne. After the destruction of the monastery in Soviet times, it survived the horrors of the stages and camps for 14 years. Upon release in post-war years lived in Tula, and then in the Moscow region. In the 1960s she adopted the schema with the name Nila. The Lord endowed her with grace-filled gifts: insight, prophecy, healing. From all over Russia people came to the gracious old woman, receiving spiritual help, consolation, and healing from illnesses.
Schema nun Nila was given the ability to deeply see the souls of people, revealing all their thoughts and heartfelt experiences, even those who were far from her.
She instructed her spiritual child: “When you leave the house, get behind the wheel, get out of the car, be sure to read the prayer: “Lord, grant me the seal of the gift of the Holy Spirit on all my paths and roads. Amen". This prayer should be with you all your life.”
Mother Nila believed that one must pray constantly - at work, on vacation, and in transport:
– Work is in the hands, and prayer is in the lips. Prayer first of all, daughters!
She spoke about the meaning of prayer like this:
– The world is held together by prayer. If prayer stops for even one hour, the world will cease to exist. And night prayer is especially needed; it pleases God more than others. The greatest and most difficult feat is to pray for people. You need to endure, pray, work, no matter what, no matter how much you scold or revile. There is reproach on the left, from the evil one, and sometimes on the right, from loved ones. Both are difficult, but useful and even necessary. It is not external labors that are needed, but purification of the heart. Don't allow yourself any deceit, be open with people. And don't think bad about yourself.

SPECIAL PRAYER HELP

Arkhangelsk greeting to the Mother of God:

Psalm 26:

“The Lord is my enlightenment and my Savior, of whom will I fear? The Lord, the Protector of my life, of whom will I be afraid?
Sometimes those who are angry come close to me, and destroy my flesh; those who insult me and defeat me become exhausted and fall. Even if a regiment takes up arms against me, my heart will not fear, even if it rises up against me to fight, I will trust in Him. I have asked one thing from the Lord, and this I will require: that I may live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, that I may behold the beauty of the Lord, and that I may visit His holy temple. For He hid me in His village in the day of my evil, for He covered me in the secret of His village, and lifted me up on a stone. And now, behold, you have lifted up my head against my enemies: I have died and devoured in His village a sacrifice of praise and shouting, I will sing and sing praises to the Lord. Hear, O Lord, my voice in which I cried, have mercy on me and hear me. My heart says to You, I will seek the Lord, I will seek Your face, O Lord, I will seek Your face. Do not turn Your face away from me and do not turn aside in anger from Your servant: be my helper, do not reject me and do not forsake me, O God, my Savior. For my father and mother have abandoned me, but the Lord will receive me. Give me the law, O Lord, in Thy way, and guide me on the right path for my enemy’s sake. Reviews

Hello, Sergiy! I gladly join all the grateful reviews of this publication. Now my comments.

When I read or say any prayers, I don’t do it “just like that,” but I turn to the Lord “as if on my own,” and therefore I try to understand the meaning of each letter. The same, by the way, applies to any church text. That's probably right.
“Create within me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb!” (Ps. 50) These are my words too.

The fact that the psalms were originally written in Hebrew, then translated into Greek, then into Church Slavonic, does not interfere so much in Psalm 50. I looked it up in the dictionary, and the rest is clear. I certainly agree that a simple “interlinear” translation into modern “everyday” Russian, as is sometimes done, sounds simply ridiculous and inappropriate, and should not be done that way.

But often there are more complex cases when a “multi-stage” translation, with the preservation in the grammar of “traces of influence” of the languages of Old Bulgarian and Macedonian, which Cyril and Methodius used in translation, leads to the fact that the very “construction” of the phrase is such that all the words are understandable , but the general meaning is not. And how then should we address the Lord with these words? If you pronounce, as well as listen to, words “without understanding the meaning,” then this is not a prayer, but a spell!

By the way, if we try to read “native Russian” as it was in the 9th century, during the time of Cyril and Methodius, we would not be able to understand almost anything. But I read Menshikov’s letter-report to Peter (300 years ago) in the original quite easily. (There was an exhibition in the museum of ancient icons, engravings and manuscripts).

Psalm 50. He is “the very best!” It generally contains all other prayers. Almost all. It’s not for nothing that our priest always reads it during censing.
But what confuses me is that this psalm contains the words: “I will teach the wicked Your way, and the wicked will turn to You.” Who am I to teach the wicked and convert the wicked? How can I say this? “You will be condemned by your words...”
And again: “You have shown me Your unknown and secret wisdom.” What wisdom has been revealed to me, if it is truly “secret”? “Oh, the depth of wealth and wisdom and knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are His destinies and unsearchable His ways!” (Rom. 11:33).

Psalm 90. You can look up who “sryashch and the midday demon” are in the dictionary. (I watched). But you don’t have to look, because it’s already clear that these are some kind of embodiments of evil and harm, from which the Lord will deliver you through prayer. Just like the asp and the basilisk.
What “I” does not actually mean is “them”, and what “and” actually means is “him”, we also managed to “overcome”, although not immediately, but it was possible.
The difficulty here is different: it is not clear from whose “face” it is pronounced – from the psalmist (and from me, along with him), or from the “face of God”?
It is also unclear from whom the 120th Psalm is addressed to whom.

26th Psalm. “For my father and mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will receive me.” What kind of parents are these who abandon their child?
Maybe it should be understood this way: “My parents died, but God is pre-eternal and eternal, and therefore He is always with me”?
“Forsake you, do not forsake me, always, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen". So?

But in general, if we talk about the psalms: the Church interprets the mention of “enemies” in them, and God’s help in the fight against them, as the personification of our struggle with our sins. For example, - in ps. 26th And in many others, incl. read at Vecherna.
However, it is impossible to accept such a “personification” if you read, for example, Ps. 108. These are real enemies, and their relatives, and children. King David calls for punishment and revenge on them in anger and anger, turning to the Lord.
“The righteous will rejoice when he sees vengeance; he will wash his hands in the blood of the sinner” (Ps. 57). Is this picture from a horror movie also a “personification” of our sins?
“Remember, Lord, King David and all his meekness!” And what is this “meekness”?...

Sincerely -
Mark.
God's help to you in all your gracious endeavors and endeavors.

Listen online or read the text of the prayer Psalm 26, 50, 90 and Virgin Mary, rejoice in Russian. The most powerful psalms 26, 50, 90 and the prayer to the Mother of God will help you protect yourself from the most difficult troubles and bypass any adversity! Nowadays, when human life is devalued, people try to protect themselves as much as possible. Some people get a dog for this purpose, others buy weapons or hire security. For an Orthodox person, the main protection is the Lord. As the Scripture says, without His will not a hair will fall from your head. The pectoral cross, artos, holy water and, of course, prayer are the greatest shrines given to us by the Lord, which protect us from visible and invisible enemies. During military conflicts in Tbilisi, Schema-Archimandrite Vitaly gave instructions to his spiritual children to protect themselves from danger: “When leaving home, read Psalms 26, 50 and 90, at the beginning, between them and at the end, one prayer each: “Rejoice to the Virgin Mary.” Elder John of Optina said: “If you observe this rule morning and evening, neither fire will take you, nor water will drown you. I’ll tell you more: it won’t be torn apart by a bomb!” According to the testimonies of many Christians who followed this rule, they remained unharmed along with their family and their home even during the bombings of the Great Patriotic War. Patriotic War. Why exactly these psalms and prayers? Let's figure out what their strength is. When Psalm 26 is read and how to do it correctly A person can be attacked not only by visible enemies, but also by unclean spirits, who plant in the mind and soul of a person the desire to retreat from God. In this case, the holy fathers recommend reading Psalm 26 daily. This will help weaken or completely get rid of attacks. Text of Psalm 26 The Lord is my enlightenment and my Savior, whom will I fear? The Lord is the Protector of my life, from whom shall I fear? Sometimes those who are angry come close to me, they destroy my flesh, they insult me, and they attack me, they are exhausted and fall. Even if a regiment takes up arms against me, my heart will not fear, even if it rises up to fight me, I will trust in Him. And now, behold, I have lifted up my head against my enemies: I have died and devoured in His village a sacrifice of praise and shouting, I will sing and sing praises to the Lord. Hear, O Lord, my voice to which I cried: have mercy on me and hear me. My heart says to you, I will seek the Lord. I will seek Your face, O Lord, I will seek Your face. Do not turn Your face away from me and do not turn aside in anger from Your servant: be my helper, do not reject me, and do not forsake me, O God of my Savior. For my father and mother have abandoned me, but the Lord will receive me. Give me the law, O Lord, in Thy way and guide me on the right path for my enemy’s sake. Do not betray me into the souls of those who are afflicted by me, as if I stood up as a witness to unrighteousness and lied untruthfully to myself. I believe in seeing the good of the Lord on the land of the living. Be patient with the Lord, be of good courage and let your heart be strong, and be patient with the Lord. Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Important! The prayer must be read daily for a month. Psalm 26 protects not only from invisible enemies, but also from those who threaten physical world . The psalm says that the Lord is great and is the main protector. By reading it, a Christian glorifies the Creator, thereby showing his enemies that he has firm support and hope in him. When and how to read Psalm 50 correctly Psalm 50 is a kind of morning prayer that relates to the canons for Communion, to the Mother of God, to the Guardian Angel. The meaning of the psalm is contrition and repentance for sins committed. This is a kind of request for mercy, so that the Lord will forgive your sins. Priests recommend reading Psalm 50 at times when a person is overwhelmed by confusion, the soul is crying, and sins are pressing. The psalm consists of 12 sentences, the meaning of which must be understood from the first lines, accepted with the heart and sincerely believed. All Christians note that after reading the prayer, anxiety goes away, the head becomes clear, and the soul feels good and light. No matter what sin you have committed, you need to remember that the Lord loves everyone and is ready to forgive if a person repents with all his heart. Text of Psalm 50 with emphasis Have mercy on me, O God, according to the greatness of Your mercy, and according to the multitude of Your compassions, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; For I know my iniquity, and I will bear away my sin before me. I have sinned against You alone and have done evil before You, so that You may be justified in Your words and triumph over Your judgment. Behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. Behold, you have loved the truth; You have shown me Your unknown and secret wisdom. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be clean; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. There is joy and gladness in my ears; the bones of the humble will rejoice. Turn away Your face from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create a pure heart in me, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Give me the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked your way, and wickedness will turn to you. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; my tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise a contrite and humble heart. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then take pleasure in the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; then they will place your calf on the altar. Psalm 50 is, in essence, a prayer to the Almighty for forgiveness of even the most terrible sins. The prayer must be read in order to understand the truth and not sin in the future. In our time, when people are no longer so reverent about faith and are sinning more and more, it is especially necessary to read this psalm so that the Lord not only forgives us, but also directs us to the true path. KATHISMA 4

Psalm 26 Psalm 26
Psalm of David. Before the anointing.
1 The Lord is my enlightenment and my Savior, whom will I fear? Lord, Protector of my life, from whom shall I fear? 1 The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life: whom shall I fear?
2 Sometimes you come close to me with malice, even if you take away my flesh, insulting me, and defeating me, you become weak and fall. 2 If evildoers, my adversaries, and my enemies come against me to devour my flesh, they themselves will stumble and fall.
3 Even if an army besieges itself against me, my heart will not fear; if it rises up to fight against me, I will trust in Him. 3 If an army takes up arms against me, my heart will not fear; if war arises against me, then I will trust in Him.
4 I have asked one thing of the Lord, and this I will require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, that I may behold the beauty of the Lord, and that I may visit His holy temple. 4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, this only do I seek, that I may abide in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to contemplate the beauty of the Lord, and to visit His holy temple,
5 Because He hid me in His village in the day of my evil, He covered me in the secret of His village, He lifted me up on a rock. 5 For He would have hidden me in His tabernacle in the day of trouble, He would have hidden me in the secret place of His habitation, He would have lifted me up on the rock.
6 And now, behold, I have lifted up my head against my enemies: I have died and devoured in His village a sacrifice of praise and shouting, I will sing and sing praises to the Lord.

6 Then my head would be lifted up above the enemies around me; and I would offer sacrifices of praise in His tabernacle, and would begin to sing and make melody before the Lord.

7 Hear, O Lord, my voice, whereby I cried: have mercy on me, and hear me.
8 My heart says unto you, I will seek the Lord. I will seek Your face, O Lord, I will seek Your face.

8 My heart says from You: seek My face; and I will seek Your face, O Lord.

9 Turn not Thy face away from me, nor turn away Thy servant with wrath: be my helper, do not deny me, nor forsake me, O God of my Savior.

9 Hide not Your face from me; do not reject Your servant in anger. You were my helper; do not reject me and do not forsake me, O God, my Savior!

10 Because my father and my mother abandoned me, but the Lord will receive me.

10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will receive me.

11 Give me the law, O Lord, in Thy way, and guide me in the right path for my enemy’s sake.

11 Teach me, O Lord, your way, and guide me in the path of righteousness, for the sake of my enemies;

12 Do not betray me to the souls of those who afflict me, for I have stood up as a witness of unrighteousness and lied untruthfully to myself.

12 Do not deliver me up to the mercy of my enemies, for false witnesses have risen up against me and breathe out malice.

13 I believe to see the good of the Lord on the land of the living.

13 But I believe that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

14 Be patient with the Lord, be of good courage and let your heart be strong, and be patient with the Lord.

14 Trust in the Lord, be of good courage, and let your heart be strengthened, and trust in the Lord.

HOW PSALM 26 WAS WRITTEN AND WHAT IT MEANS

« Psalm to David, before the anointing“- the prophet David received several anointings in his life.
The first was done by the prophet Samuel when David was still little and tending flocks.
The second, solemn, at the accession to the kingdom after the death of Saul, and to control the tribes of Judah and Benjamin.
The third anointing was performed to govern the Jewish people, all 12 of them.
This psalm speaks of the second anointing, when David, with the death of King Saul, was finally delivered from persecution from him. Prophet David was repeatedly attacked by enemies, but he knew who his Protector was and to whom he owed his salvation. In the verses of this psalm, he expresses his faith and hope in God - his powerful Patron and Defender.

EXPLANATION AND BRIEF INTERPRETATION OF PSALM 27

Ps.26:1 The Lord is my enlightenment and my Savior, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the Protector of my life, from whom shall I fear?
The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life: whom shall I fear?
During the persecution by Saul, David was literally on the verge of death more than once, but every time the mercy of God and His help appeared to vice, thereby increasingly strengthening him in faith. Therefore, in the first verse of the psalm, David proclaims that there is no point in him being afraid of anything - after all, the Lord Himself is his Savior and Protector.

Ps.26:2 Sometimes those who are angry approach me and destroy my flesh; those who insult me and defeat me become exhausted and fall.
If evildoers, my adversaries and enemies come upon me to devour my flesh, then they themselves will stumble and fall.
David was repeatedly in such situations when his enemies practically overtook him, but every time it was as if something was stopping them from seizing the prophet and putting him to death. Either his pursuers did not recognize him and he freely left them, or they themselves died. And one day it happened that David’s small detachment was soon to be destroyed by Saul’s soldiers who were catching up with him, but at that moment they received news of an attack on their lands by a powerful enemy and were forced to stop the pursuit and go to war.
Therefore, a person who is under the protection of the Lord Himself knows the answer to the question: who should I fear, when I am sure that the Lord, my Enlightenment, and my Savior, and the Protector of my life, is always with me and with me?

Ps.26:3 Even if a regiment turns against me, my heart will not fear; Even if he fights against me, I will trust in Him.
If a regiment takes up arms against me, my heart will not fear; if war arises against me, then I will hope in Him, but I will not have fear.

Ps.26:4 I have asked one thing of the Lord, this I will require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, that I may behold the beauty of the Lord, and that I may visit His holy Temple.
I asked one thing from the Lord, that only I seek, that I might abide in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, contemplate the beauty of the Lord and visit His holy temple.
While in exile, David, although separated from his family, first of all, he complains that he cannot be in the Temple of the Lord and admire its beauty.
The beauty of the Lord, translated from Greek, also means joy from the Lord, from His love and consolation. This is a high feeling and it is always in the heart. For true believers, losing this feeling is real fear.

Ps.26:5 For He hid me in His village in the day of my evil, for He covered me in the secret of His village, and lifted me up on a stone.
For He would have hidden me in His tabernacle in the day of trouble, He would have hidden me in the secret place of His habitation, He would have lifted me up on the rock.
The Lord shelters all who love Him from troubles and evil in the secret of His village, those. in a place where there is no trouble, evil, in places that are inaccessible to enemies, where neither they themselves can reach nor their arrows, which can cause pain, do not reach ( lift me up on a stone).

Ps.26:6 And now, behold, you have lifted up my head against my enemies: the sacrifice of praise and shouting has been wasted and devoured in His village: I will sing and make praise to the Lord.
Then my head would be lifted above the enemies surrounding me; and I would offer sacrifices of praise in His tabernacle, and would begin to sing and make melody before the Lord.
David, although he was in exile. but he, as a prophet, knew that the time would come when the Lord would help defeat his enemies and then he would glorify God. Therefore, this verse is written in the past tense, as an already accomplished fact.

Ps.26:7 Hear, O Lord, my voice in which I cried, have mercy on me and hear me.
Hear, O Lord, my voice with which I cry, have mercy on me and listen to me.
Before this, David poured out to us his feelings for God, and starting from verse 7, the prophet prays to the Lord for the mercy of help.

Ps.26:8 My heart says to you: I will seek the Lord, I will seek your face, O Lord, I will seek your face.
My heart speaks from You: seek My face; and I will seek Your face, O Lord.
God, if He exists in a person, is in the heart, therefore we must preserve this love and protect our heart for this love, driving away lies, evil and attachment to earthly things.

Ps.26:9 Turn not Thy face away from me, nor turn away Thy servant in anger: be my helper, do not cast me away, nor forsake me, O God, my Savior.
Hide not Your face from me; do not reject Your servant in anger. You were my helper; do not reject me and do not forsake me, O God, my Savior!

Ps.26:10 For my father and mother have abandoned me, but the Lord will receive me.
For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will receive me.
In exile, David was in the land of the Philistines, far from his family, so he compares his situation to a lost child who has no parents. But at the same time, he says that he was not left alone - the Lord accepted him.

Ps.26:11 Give me the law, O Lord, in Thy way, and guide me on the right path for my enemy’s sake.
Teach me, O Lord, Your way and guide me on the path of righteousness, for the sake of my enemies.
Due to the fact that on the path to salvation there are many enemies (visible and invisible, but primarily internal), the prophet asks for the help of the Lord, so that He would teach him the laws of God and strengthen him with His grace because every person walking along the righteous path, various dangers and temptations await.

Ps.26:12 Do not betray me into the souls of those who are afflicted by me: for I have stood up as a witness of unrighteousness, and lied untruthfully to myself.
Do not hand me over to the mercy of my enemies, for false witnesses have risen up against me and are breathing malice.
The prophet’s enemies slandered him and spread false rumors about him, so David calls them “unrighteous witnesses,” but in the end this lie turned on the attackers themselves ( lying to yourself).

Ps.26:13 I believe in seeing the good of the Lord on the land of the living
But I believe that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Although David's enemies caused a lot of evil and grief, he did not become bitter against the world, he believes in God, in His gifts and mercy ( good of the Lord) not only in this world, but also in the Heavenly Kingdom.

Ps.26:14 Be patient with the Lord, be of good courage, and let your heart be strong, and be patient with the Lord.
Trust in the Lord, be of good courage, and let your heart be strengthened, and trust in the Lord.
The Prophet calls not to despair, but with patience, courage and hope in the Lord ( be patient with the Lord), expect a solution to your troubles and then a happy life will come.

Elder Schema-Archimandrite Vitaly (in the world V.N. Sidorenko (1928-1992) was a pupil of the great elders of the Glinsk Hermitage. He stood out for his high spirituality, humility, and obedience. This humble, meek shepherd, not of this world, was distinguished by a special gift from God: he healed the mentally ill and the possessed .

As a prayerful memory, Schema-Archimandrite Vitaly left Mother N. (who was his spiritual child for 30 years) a prayer to bless the house. This prayer was read several times a day during bombings, sieges, and searches. And her house in one of the “hot” spots of the Caucasus, and the people in it, were not harmed when everything nearby and in the area was burned, smashed, and blown up.

Amen.

Rule read in danger

during military operations in Tbilisi, he gave his spiritual children a special rule for protection from dangers. He advised, in the morning, when leaving the house, to read Psalms 26, 50 and 90, and between them, at the beginning and at the end, one prayer, “Rejoice, Virgin Mary.”

He added, as his spiritual children remember: “After this, if a shell or bullet explodes nearby, or a fire happens, no trouble will touch you.”
“Read Psalms 26, 50, 90, and the Lord and Mother of God will bestow Their mercies.”
Those who prayed testify this way: “Whoever did this was saved with his whole house.».

Virgin Mary, Rejoice, O Blessed Mary, the Lord is with You; Blessed are You among women and blessed is the fruit of Your womb, for You have given birth to the Savior of our souls.

Psalm 26

The Lord is my enlightenment and my Savior, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the Protector of my life, from whom shall I fear? Sometimes those who are angry approach me and destroy my flesh; those who insult me and defeat me become exhausted and fall. Even if a regiment turns against me, my heart will not fear; Even if he fights against me, I will trust in Him. For He hid me in His village in the day of my evil, for He covered me in the secret of His village, and lifted me up on a stone. And now, behold, you have lifted up my head against my enemies: the sacrifice of praise and exclamation was lost and devoured in His village; I will sing and make praise to the Lord. Hear, O Lord, my voice in which I cried, have mercy on me and hear me. My heart says to you: I will seek the Lord, I will seek your face, O Lord, I will seek your face. Do not turn Your face away from me and do not turn aside in anger from Your servant: be my helper, do not reject me and do not forsake me. God, my Savior. As my father and mother abandoned me. The Lord will accept me. Give me the law, O Lord, in Thy way, and guide me on the right path for my enemy’s sake. Do not betray me into the souls of those who are afflicted by me: for I have stood up as a witness of unrighteousness, and lied untruthfully to myself. I believe in seeing the good of the Lord on the land of the living. Be patient with the Lord, be of good courage, and let your heart be strong, and be patient with the Lord.

Psalm 50

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy, and according to the multitude of Your mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Above all, wash me from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; for I know my iniquity, and I will take away my sin before me. I have sinned against You alone and have done evil before You, so that You may be justified in Your words and triumph over the judgment of You. Behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and my mother gave birth to me in sins. Behold, you have loved the truth; You have revealed to me the unknown and secret wisdom of Yours. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. My hearing brings joy and joy; humble bones will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins and cleanse all my iniquities. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit away from me. Reward me with the joy of Your salvation and strengthen me with the Lord’s Spirit. I will teach the wicked Your way, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from bloodshed, O God, God of my salvation; My tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will declare Your praise. As if you had desired sacrifices, you would have given them: you do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit; God will not despise a broken and humble heart. Bless Zion, O Lord, with Your favor, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then favor the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; Then they will place the bullock on Your altar.

Psalm 90

Living in the help of the Most High, he will settle in the shelter of the Heavenly God. Says the Lord: Thou art my Protector and my Refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. For He will deliver you from the snare of the trap and from rebellious words, His blanket will cover you, and under His wing you hope: His truth will surround you with weapons. Do not be afraid from the fear of the night, from the arrow that flies during the day, from the thing that passes in darkness, from the cloak, and from the demon of the midday. Thousands will fall from your country, and darkness will fall at your right hand, but it will not come close to you, otherwise look at your eyes and see the reward of sinners. For You, O Lord, are my hope, You have made the Most High your refuge. Evil will not come to you, and wound will not approach your body, as His Angel commanded you to keep you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their arms, but when you dash your foot against a stone, you will step on an asp and a basilisk and cross a lion and a serpent. For I have trusted in Me, and I will deliver, and I will cover, and because I have known My name. He will call to Me, and I will hear him: I am with him in sorrow, I will take him away and glorify him, I will fulfill him with the length of days and show him My salvation.

We live in a world where people are surrounded by many dangerous situations. Orthodox Christians wear a cross on their body for protection, sign themselves with the sign of the cross, read prayer texts, and sprinkle themselves with holy water. But our main protector is the Lord, and Psalm 26 is a great prayer of turning to the Savior for protection.

History and significance

There is a book of psalms in the Bible. The word “psalm” translated from Greek means “song of praise.” These are a kind of prayer poems. In Aramaic, these verses are written without rhyme. Some psalms describe the history of the Jewish people.

Previously, poems did not have numbers. Today they are divided into stanzas and have numbers for convenience. Prayer poems were compiled by King David and entered the Holy Scriptures as the book of Psalms. The authors of almost 80 psalms were David. This is a unique figure in the Bible. Despite his sins, God calls him “a man after his own heart.” After his sin, David sought the Lord, repented, and wrote a song of praise 52.

David was a shepherd and tended sheep as a child. At this time he sang songs of praise to the Lord. It was no coincidence that he was anointed king by Samuel. Jesus is called the son of David, since the Messiah was from the line of David, to which the Virgin Mary and Joseph belonged.

The author of Psalms 90 and 91 is Moses, who led the people of Israel from Egypt; one prayer poem belongs to David’s son Solomon. Asaph wrote 12 songs of praise. Also in the list of authors of psalms we can name Heman, Ethan, the sons of Korah. The authors of the remaining songs of praise have not been identified.

In the middle of the 9th century, Cyril and Methodius, the authors of the Slavic alphabet, translated Psalm 26 from Greek into Old Slavonic. And the first text of the book of Psalms, which belongs to the poetic books of the Bible, was published in Krakow in 1491.

Any psalm is a prayer appeal to the Creator and Creator. In the song of praise, His Glory and greatness are sung and thanksgiving is given for kindness, mercy, and compassion.

The psalmists express their love for the Lord, admiration for His deeds, rejoicing, and are aware of their aspirations, sorrows and sorrows. David’s prayer poems describe his feelings, his search for God, his desire to contemplate the beauty of the Creator and to dwell “in His courts.”

David defeated the giant Goliath. He went at him in the name of the Lord and killed him with a sling and a stone. Despite the fact that David was anointed king, he had to wander in the desert and hide from King Saul, who wanted to kill him. David took the throne in Jerusalem, and one day he saw Bathsheba who was bathing, he desired her, and sent her husband to war, where he died.

But David did not flee from the presence of the Lord, but repented of his sin. Psalm 50 is considered repentant, and song of praise 33 is considered thanksgiving.

The texts of the psalms enlighten the mind, make wise, protect from fear, give peace from work, pacify, give reconciliation with enemies, strengthen the spirit, help fulfill one's destiny.

Psalm 26 is read when protection from danger is needed, when there is a threat to health. It protects from evil and disorderly people, from enemies and demonic forces.

The main idea of prayer is repentance for sins and gratitude to the Lord for His forgiveness and favor.

First, a text of gratitude is read, and then comes repentance.

They pray Psalm 26, trusting in the Lord’s help in despondency, in protection from slanderers and ill-wishers. You can listen to the prayer Psalm 26 forty times. You can’t immediately read about health and peace.
