WITH The crafting system in Dragon Age: Inquisition is one of the most interesting aspects of the game. Here it is not limited to just inserting runes - you can create armor or weapons from scratch, choosing the appearance option, type, material that gives the necessary bonuses and improvements, as well as adding bracers to a jacket or an ax with a special handle. Runes for weapons, however, also remained - without them there is nowhere in the world of Thedas.

ABOUT However, when you first play, the abundance of these cells, materials and drawings simply makes your eyes wide open. Let's try to understand them in more detail.

SKETCHES

D Designs are required to create equipment, upgrades, or runes. They are found in chests, sold from merchants (the shop without a seller at the bottom of the canyon in the Whistling Wastes is especially noteworthy, where you can buy designs for level 3 armor), given for completing missions at headquarters, and sometimes dropped from killed bosses. Found sketches are immediately displayed in the list of items available for crafting, can be used an infinite number of times and do not take up space in the inventory.

TO The number of all possible sketches is too large to list here. full list. For weapons and shields alone, a little more than a hundred were discovered; Sketches of improvements for weapons - 125, Sketches of armor and helmets - 120, improvements for them - about fifty. There is room to turn around! However, if you carefully search and clear the area, you will probably find everything.

E skizy yellow color make it possible to produce a higher quality item.

WITH There are three levels of thumbnails. The higher it is, the more cells it contains for materials and their quantity, and the better quality and with big amount bonuses you can create an item.

E 1st level sketches assume the presence of 2 cells for materials, 2nd level sketches - 3 cells, 3rd level sketches - 4 cells.

I a cell of material – relatively speaking, that from which the object will be created. It is quite logical that for heavy armor you will need a large number of metal, a little less leather and fabric is rarely needed, but for a magician’s robe it’s exactly the opposite. For swords and weapon hilts, you need a base, as well as a leather or fabric braid and the like.

IN There are four types of cells: the main one, which determines the basic parameters, and three additional ones, the set of which may vary depending on the sketch.

ABOUT Please note that for improvements any level, only two additional cells are always available - both for weapons and armor. That is, with the help of improvements you can only add bonuses and/or stat points, but not DPS or armor level (the exception is Bianca, but she is slightly lower).

TYPES OF CRAFTING AND IMPROVEMENTS

Armor
D All three types of armor (light, medium and heavy), as well as helmets of each of the three types, are available for crafting.

P For almost all types of armor, two upgrade slots are available: bracers and leggings (with the exception of special armor like the Elven Guardian Robe or the armor of the Legion of the Dead).

Guide: Making armor and weapons

Guide: Making armor and weapons

U Improvements are crafted separately, but according to the same principle. Sometimes ready-made ones can be found in chests or received for missions at the headquarters. Improvements can also be removed from dropped items (if any) and placed on others as many times as you like. It doesn’t matter at all if you put the bracers of the Defender’s jacket on, say, the Marauder’s chain mail - the main thing is that the improvement and armor are of the same class. Only he will suffer appearance. Place those made according to sketches high level Upgrades to lower-level items are also not prohibited.

Guide: Making armor and weapons

Guide: Making armor and weapons
Weapon
IN There are more types of weapons than armor, and their improvements are not so straightforward. Below is a list of improvements. Also, do not forget that ALL types of weapons (except shields) must have one slot for a rune.

ABOUT A special point worth mentioning is Varricova Bianca. Since the weapon is unique and he, of course, does not part with it, you can increase the damage control and level-appropriate characteristics only with the help of improvements. Bianca has three upgrade slots available (in addition to the rune): Shoulders, Sight, Handle (in order for her to appear on the blacksmith’s workbench, you need to switch to Varrick).

Guide: Making armor and weapons

Guide: Making armor and weapons

D For Shoulders, although they are an improvement, a main cell is available (in addition to two or three additional ones) that increases Bianca’s damage control. The handle contains one support cell, the sight - one attack cell.

N Initial improvements for Bianca can be found from merchants; some improvements and designs can be given as a reward for operations at headquarters related to Varrick and the improvement of his crossbow. Don't forget to upgrade Bianca in time, otherwise Varrick will become a rather useless team member.

SCH You can also craft them yourself, but they will not have the ability to improve.

MATERIALS

D There are three types of materials for crafting weapons and armor: metal, leather and fabric, all of which are divided into three levels. The higher the level of the material, the higher the level of armor or damage control (main cell) or the quantitative indicator of the bonus (additional)

IN The type of armor may vary depending on the material.

Guide: Making armor and weapons

Guide: Making armor and weapons

Guide: Making armor and weapons

Guide: Making armor and weapons

Guide: Making armor and weapons

Guide: Making armor and weaponsN For example, Gurgut web (level 2 leather) adds 1.5% to the chance to cause bleeding in the attack slot and 3% to fire resistance in the defense cell, while wyvern scales (level 3 leather) already gives 1.75% and 3 .5% of the same parameters, respectively. Most materials have high-level analogues, and differ in the quantitative addition of bonuses per unit.

ABOUT Please note that improvement rates are given for one unit of material, and in the subject they are summed up. Since you can place from 2 to 21 units of material in one cell (see the required quantity when creating), the total figure becomes very impressive. So, for example, if lamb leather adds +1 dexterity to the support slot, and the number of leather units required for this cell in the design is 8, then on the finished product you will receive a +8 dexterity bonus (when created, the future parameters of the item are displayed in the upper right corner). If there is another support cell with the same amount of leather, then in total you can get +16 agility.

METALS
M The metal is found using the search button (or a keen eye) in caves and on mountain slopes in the form of small clusters, two or three types of each metal per location. In the Emerald Graves in the Argon Shack you can buy the Perfect Luster, obsidian and pyrophyte, and the Colored Glass from Sero is sold in Skyhold from the merchant from Orlais (don't forget to invite her when you're at the market in Val Royeaux).

Guide: Making armor and weapons

P In addition to direct collection during the initial exploration of the location, after returning to the headquarters, you can entrust advisers with the extraction of standard metals (you should choose Cullen or Josephine, Leliana usually brings herbs). You won't get much (6-10 units at a time), but at least you won't have to run away yourself. These quests can be completed indefinitely, but their completion time is 12 minutes.

P After capturing the fortresses, additional endless quests for the extraction of rare materials will open. Also all materials in small quantities found in bags and chests throughout Thedas.

Z Artisan's notes: In case you forgot where you found this or that material, in the codex, in the “Locations” section at the end of the description of each location, there is a list of resources found in it.

Z Artisan's Marks 2: Silverite (Metal), Snuffler's Leather (Leather), and Dalish Roughcloth (Cloth), when used as a base material, remove class restrictions for armor. That is, you can dress a mage in heavy armor and a warrior in light armor. For what? Well, what if...

GREAT THINGS

Guide: Making armor and weapons

Guide: Making armor and weapons

IN You will have the opportunity to create excellent things in Skyhold after inviting the enchantress (mission at headquarters). When creating an item, a separate cell “for an excellent item” appears, right above the main one.

ABOUT ordinary materials will not work here. For an excellent item, you need metals, leathers or fabrics “touched by the Shadow” that are found randomly during collection, as well as special finds like a dragon tooth or iron bark. Only one unit of such material can be inserted into a cell, but filling it is not required.

H Most often, special materials provide a short-term ability, such as “Walking Fortress” for 3 seconds, “Unbreakable” or “Shadow Cloak”, the chance to receive a bonus to the accumulation of focus or, on a fatal blow, to be healed up to 15% of health. The “critical success probability” will also be useful, which gives +10% to all indicators of the item in case of special success.

IN Possible bonuses are generated randomly, and there are too many of them to make a list. I don't think I managed to get all the excellent materials - they don't come across often, and the same shadow-touched material can give different abilities. Just read carefully the description of the proposed improvements.

Z Artisan's Notes 3: Unfortunately, the weapons and armor you make are of little value to merchants. You won't be able to get a lot of money for them.

The developers from BioWare have done a great job on the crafting system (creating things) in role-playing game. Thanks to it, players can make their own weapons, armor and shields. As a result, the best equipment in this RPG can not only be obtained from bosses or hidden chests, but also crafted yourself. However, you shouldn’t rejoice ahead of time, thinking that you will be able to make the best sword or staff in the game at the very beginning of your playthrough. The fact is that first of all you will have to find a good sketch, and then collect rare materials, and only then will you have the opportunity to create an item in the workshop.

Therefore, it is not yet entirely clear what is more difficult - to get things purple(unique) or designs for powerful items. Thus, you should not write off weapons and armor that drop from monsters (mainly from high dragons) and are located in well-hidden treasuries.

In this guide, we will not only cover the best weapons of each type (one-handed, two-handed, bows, staves, and daggers) and shields, but we will also present lists of unique weapons. Unfortunately, they cannot yet be called complete, since there are many hiding places in “Inquisition” that no one has yet been able to discover. Perhaps you will become the owner of some hitherto unseen weapon. In this case, be sure to share this knowledge with us in the comments to the guide so that other players will know about your find.

When crafting weapons and shields, we did not take into account the ten percent bonus received from special materials (dragon tooth, for example). Let's explain - in the game, in addition to the usual crafting slots, there are special slots into which you can add an item touched by a shadow (it adds a unique ability to the item), or a material that with a probability of ten to one hundred percent increases all the characteristics of the item. Be sure to use them when crafting equipment to maximize its usefulness.

By the way, saving/loading will not help in this case. Therefore, if you want to get an improved item, then you need to do the following: save, create an unnecessary item and use a dragon’s tooth (in the first case, you are unlikely to get an enhancement), and then craft the thing we already need (in the second case, the enhancement usually works). If it was not possible to improve the item the second time, then we load the previous save and make two unnecessary items, and the third time - the item we need.

One-handed

IN Dragon Age: Inquisition, one-handed weapons are usually carried by tanks (warriors equipped with shields). For this reason, the main parameters of this weapon are physique and strength, thanks to which a melee fighter is able to withstand a considerable number of attacks and at the same time inflict as much damage as possible on the enemy. If we look at the sketches, the best ones for crafting are: Engraved Ax with a Goatee and Wrath of the Serpent. The first drops randomly from chests located in locations intended for players above level sixteen, and the second can be found in the Whistling Wastes in a tomb located northeast of the Statue Camp.

For a tank, the Serpent's Fury ax is preferable, because it has one support slot that increases physique. Therefore, let's consider it - for crafting best version we will need the following resources: dragon bone and everite. Metal is needed for attack slots, and bones are used for damage and support. Thus, we get an excellent one-handed weapon with an excellent damage per second indicator: 279 DPS.

Note: We remind you that amplifiers, runes and additional items are not taken into account. Together with them, the DPS easily exceeds three hundred units.

When considering rare weapons, you will notice that only the Song of the Marshes ax can compete with a homemade one, which is issued for completing special missions on the war table, which are directly related to the Hero of Ferelden - the main Dragon character Age: Origins. If he died in the first part, then there will be no additional quests with him in Inquisition.

Unique one-handed weapons:

Two-handed

Damagers are equipped with two-handed weapons (deal maximum damage to the enemy). Most often, unique two-handed weapons are found, that is, finding a sketch of a powerful ax or two-handed sword is incredibly difficult. Of the sketches, the most powerful is the recipe for the War Hammer, which randomly drops out of chests located in high-level locations. You may not get it during your entire playthrough of the game, so we recommend that you pay attention to purple weapons, which are much easier to get.

Some powerful two-handed weapons are sold by merchants, such as Siege's End, but their prices are sometimes staggering. If you have not yet been able to scrape together a sufficient number of gold coins, then we recommend crafting ordinary two-handed swords, hammers and axes. In this case, you need to increase the characteristics of attack, strength and armor penetration. A good sketch of an ax called Hossberg Twainer can be purchased from a merchant in the Suledin fortress (Emprise du Lyon).

As for the best unique weapons, the most powerful is the Sulevin Blade, which can be used by a warrior who has reached level twenty. To get it you will have to go through a difficult quest. To start it, you need to get to the Emprise du Lyon location and find the corpse of a merchant in the mountains. In his inventory we find a note that talks about the legendary elven blade. After this, access to a new location opens on the military table, where the fragments of the sword we need are located.

Don't forget to upgrade your two-handed weapon with a pommel and shaft to increase its characteristics. For a two-hander, the most important thing is to increase the likelihood of a crit and its size. Also install runes that increase the damage of a sword, hammer or ax.

Unique two-handed weapons:

We move from ordinary weapons to magical ones, which are used by wizards and sorcerers of all stripes. Among the unique staves there are quite a few interesting specimens, but they are all already inferior to items that you can craft yourself. Purple staves usually drop from high dragons or story bosses, and some can be purchased from merchants for fabulous money. The best sketches include the following recipes: the excellent Mortalitasi staff and the excellent Archon staff. Their standard DPS is 115 units. The first one will be more effective for the magician, but the probability of receiving the second staff is much higher.

The fact is that the excellent Archon staff is awarded for completing a number of tasks about a spy on the military table of the command headquarters, which appear after completing personal quest Iron Bull (you need to prevent the Qunari ship from being blown up). When making it, we use dragon bone and third-level fabric, which increases magic.

As for unique weapons, the best staves are: Yavanalis and Void Staff. Both can be purchased from merchants (in the Suledin Fortress and the capital of Orlais). The Void Staff can also be obtained by killing high dragon Hivernal. Naturally, these staves are inferior to homemade items, but they are also quite good.

If for some reason you were unable to obtain the above sketches, then a good alternative to them can be the staff of the First Sorcerer, the standard DPS of which is also 115 units, but the crafting materials at the same time increase the not entirely necessary characteristics of the magician. You can buy this recipe from a merchant in the Suledin Fortress.

Unique staves:

Archers in Inquisition become the main damage dealers in the later stages of the game. Thanks to special abilities they can cause incredible damage to the enemy. Plus, characters of this class are far from enemies during battle, and therefore they are not at risk of being killed, which cannot be said about assassins, who have to be in the thick of the battle.

If we look at the sketches, one of the most powerful bows is the excellent spiked longbow, whose DPS is 172 units. There is also a swan longbow with the same damage per second, but slightly different slots for materials. It is much more difficult to find, so let’s look at the “spike”. You can find a sketch for it in the tomb of the gnomes, located in the Whistling Wastes. To create the best version of this bow, we will need the following materials: dragon scales, webbing and bones, as well as snuffler skin or all-rounder scales (used for the support slot).

As a result, we will get an excellent long-range weapon with high percentage penetration of armor. This will allow the archer to easily deal with well-protected mobs, as well as high dragons, who often create additional armor for themselves. If we talk about secondary devices, then in this case we use a fine-made handle. It increases the chance of a crit and the penetrating power of weapons. You can use any rune, but we recommend using a desecrating stone, since we will mainly have to fight living creatures.

Among the unique weapons, the most powerful is the griffin longbow, which can be worn by archers who have reached level eighteen. Per second, he is capable of inflicting 170 units of damage to any enemy. A good weapon, but homemade is still better.

Unique bows:

In addition to bows, robbers can also carry daggers. The ones that cause the most damage are those that are created independently. These, for example, include an excellent blade with two curves, which can be found in one of the tombs of the gnomes located in the Whistling Wastes. Its DPS reaches 341 units. To craft the best option, we need dragon scales and bones.

We have at our disposal excellent daggers with considerable bonuses to crits, cunning and dexterity. Don't forget to also create a tight handle for the paired blades. To create it, you will need everite and other rare materials that increase the likelihood of critical damage and its size. As for runes, we recommend installing one that adds elemental damage. In this case, you will be able to inflict additional damage to almost all enemies, and not just certain groups (dragons, undead, people, and so on).

Naturally, you will not get access to such a dagger and materials right away. Therefore, we recommend that you first use bear skins for crafting, which you should have in abundance. Then you should use the skin of the snuffler (this is a small and peaceful animal that lives in Emprise du Lyon).

If we talk about unique daggers, there are plenty of them in the game and at first they will be significantly superior to the sketch versions. Pay special attention to Agony and Walking Death. They deal more than three hundred units of damage per second and have good bonuses to the characteristics necessary for a robber. Agony is in the Solasan temple in the room with the demon of Pride (you need to open all the doors), and we get Walking Death after killing the high dragon Highland Destroyer (lives in Emprise du Lyon).

If you decide to get the best shield in the game, then you will again need to look for the corresponding sketches. Unfortunately, unique shields in this case are not so strong. One of the best is considered a polished shield. It drops randomly from level three chests, which are located mainly in locations such as Emprise du Lyon and the Whistling Wastes. When creating shields, increase those characteristics that increase the character's defense against melee and ranged attacks. If you do not have the appropriate materials, you can increase your HP (health points). To create the best option To make a polished shield, you will need the following materials: alder scale, everite and dragon bone. As a result, we get an item whose armor is 48 units.

Shields of a unique nature are somewhat inferior to those that we can create ourselves. For example, the Emperor's shield has an armor rating of only 33 units. But he has an excellent bonus - he restores fifteen percent of his health from all damage received every ten seconds. You can find it in Val Royeaux from a merchant in a store. Magol is sold in Skyhold. In terms of its characteristics, it is inferior to the shield described above, but in the middle of the passage it can be very useful.

This concludes our guide to the best weapons and shields in Dragon Age: Inquisition. As you can see, the game features a huge amount of a wide variety of weapons, which can be difficult to obtain. Therefore, we wish you good luck in this complex and difficult matter!
