Condensation: why pipes in the bathroom fog up. How to remove condensation from cold water pipes - eliminating the causes and consequences Condensation on a cold riser

The formation of condensation (water droplets) on the surface of pipes is a frequent and widespread phenomenon. Condensation is present in apartments with centralized water supply, country houses and cottages equipped with individual pumping station. It is observed in summer season and in winter. Tiny droplets of water form on the surface of sewer and water pipes, and sometimes on the surface of walls. This process in itself cannot be considered a big problem. But the accumulation of water leads to a reduction in the service life of the water supply system and to flooding of neighbors due to leaks. Excess moisture causes dampness and dampness in the toilet, bathroom, kitchen. unpleasant odor, leads to the formation of fungus and mold.

The appearance of condensation on the pipes in the toilet

Condensation on pipes cold water formed due to temperature differences. Another reason lies in poor performance ventilation system or it is absent altogether.

Heavy condensation on the pipes in the toilet appears for the following reasons:

  1. Ineffective room ventilation. You can check the correctness of this reason in the following way. Don't close the toilet door at night. If the pipes remain dry in the morning, this will confirm poor performance air ventilation systems.
  2. Regular occurrence cistern. In this situation, the water constantly flows without having time to warm up, so it remains cold. The room air temperature is much higher, due to the temperature difference, condensation appears. To remove condensation from the toilet tank, repair or replace the outlet valve or tap on it.
  3. Malfunctions and leaks from neighbors. Water flows through the riser, so as a result there are wet pipes in the toilet. You cannot solve this problem on your own. Join forces with your neighbors, or better yet, invite a plumber. But if it is impossible to connect them immediately after discovering the cause, then you can temporarily eliminate condensation on the pipes in the toilet as follows. To do this, wrap four to five turns of a bandage or strip of fabric around the pipe, and lower the remaining fabric into the container. The accumulated liquid should be poured out periodically.
  • Poor ventilation or exhaust operation, or lack thereof. In this case, the cold water pipe sweats. Sometimes you just need to clean the vents. Unscrew the grille, which is used as a valve to shut off air circulation, and thoroughly clean all structural ventilation elements.
  • Features of laying water supply and sewerage lines. IN apartment buildings pipes for cold and hot water laid side by side and without any thermal insulation. This circumstance explains the appearance of condensation on the pipes that lead to the mixer. If they are laid inside the wall, then serious repairs cannot be done. In the case of open pipe laying, a thermostat is used.
  • The valve on the boiler is dripping. This problem can be eliminated by winding a special tape.
  • Damage (leakage) of the mixer. Constantly leaking liquid causes cold water pipes to sweat and the air humidity in the apartment increases. You can get rid of condensation by replacing or repairing the faucet.
  • Riser leak. Get rid of condensation on pipes with this
the problem can be either temporarily (wrap up a bandage or cloth, and lower the free end into a container to collect liquid), or replace the riser or only the damaged part.

To avoid the formation of moisture, it is better to start by checking and adjusting the operation of the ventilation and exhaust system. Humidity should be no higher than 50% in the house. Humidity standards in an apartment are established by relevant sanitary standards and rules. The optimal humidity is 45 - 30%. If the ventilation is in good condition and works well, then the air humidity remains within normal limits.

The next option is to eliminate possible leaks of faucets and toilet cistern. If they cannot be repaired, then simply replace them.

When these measures do not help eliminate condensation and bring air humidity back to normal, then use other methods. New innovative method- waterproofing paint. It should only be used on completely dry and rust-free surfaces. If you are lazy, then of course it is not prohibited to paint a pipe with condensate, but this is wasted work. Therefore, before work, be sure to turn off the water.

When cleaning surfaces, it is better to use fine sandpaper and do not overdo it (especially if the pipes are plastic), as this can lead to damage.

Another option is insulating pipes with a special cut. Before use, they must be wiped to prevent droplets of moisture from entering the insulating layer.

When applied, the thermal insulation agent “Grafotherm” forms a protective film, minimizing the possibility of condensation forming on plastic cold water pipes.

Condensation on water pipes can be eliminated in a simple and economical way, although they themselves will not look very aesthetically pleasing. Wrap them with a bandage or strips of cloth. Alternate layers of bandage with epoxy putty, in this case the waterproofing is much more reliable.

Self-installation of thermal insulation

To eliminate condensation in the bathroom and toilet, it is not at all necessary to wait for plumbers. You can do the installation of thermal insulation yourself. Let's look at waterproofing methods that are suitable for doing it yourself:

  1. Buying ready-made thermal insulation material. Market building materials has a large assortment of them. These are energyflex, polypropylene foam, penofol, self-adhesive tape and others.
  2. Plumbers recommend using high-diameter thermal insulation plastic pipes. Soft but durable, with thick porous walls, this pipe is easy to install.

They are produced in several standard sizes, the inner diameter corresponds to the outer diameter of the water pipe.

  1. The thermal insulation pipe is cut lengthwise, put on the water pipe, and the seam is sealed with special tape (metalized). If the pipes in the toilet are sweating, then for lack of funds you can get by with a simple corrugated pipe or thick cardboard. Cut pieces of the required length, with a diameter slightly larger than the tap pipe. Then they put it on the problem area and fill it with foam. Short pieces are glued together with tape.
  2. The easiest and most economical way to insulate if a cold water pipe is sweating is to use epoxy putty. Before application, the surfaces must be very thoroughly cleaned of corrosion and rust, and then degreased with a solution containing acetone. When the putty solution has hardened, the pipe is bandaged, and then another layer of solution is applied, after it has dried, the last, final layer is applied.

Getting rid of condensation on pipes

The fight against condensate must be rational. If you cannot completely get rid of moisture droplets or prevent their appearance using any of the methods, you need to pay attention to other reasons:

  • Weather conditions - a humid climate and frequent prolonged rains, prolonged severe frosts or heavy snowfalls increase the level of humidity in the room, and as a result, condensation appears.
  • Location of the house near natural reservoirs, close proximity groundwater affect the level of humidity indoors at home.
  • Disadvantages of construction - no foundation waterproofing layer has been laid, no ventilation, cold floor or damp basement located under the house.
  • Frequent breakdowns of the water supply system and the presence of several sources of evaporation (drying clothes, cooking) are also causes of condensation.

Most often, to solve this problem it is necessary to completely change the internal microclimate of the house, and this requires complex comprehensive measures, including overhaul. Each situation of condensation requires studying the causes and individual choice of method and method of elimination.

Sometimes activities can be simple and economical.

  • If there is excessive moisture, eliminate the source. Use only well-ventilated areas to dry clothes.
  • Equip the exhaust ventilation so that it operates in several modes, including forced.
  • Additionally insulate the walls and floor.
  • Install an air conditioner with a dehumidification function. If this is not possible, then make a moisture absorber yourself.

Condensation on pipes is very common problem operation of the sewer system. Such situations arise for many reasons, but the main one is wet pipelines that create dampness in the rooms of houses and cottages. The formation of condensation can lead to the formation of mold, and hasten the need for repair work water supply This article is devoted to ways to solve condensation in a private room.

In most cases, the formation of condensation is due to bad work ventilation system in the house. It is this factor that influences the formation of droplets on the walls of the water supply when interacting with air. It is for this reason that before installing pipes in the toilet and bathroom, you need to perform thermal insulation. The layer should protect the pipes from temperature changes. This situation most often occurs when warm and cold water risers are located close to each other. Let's list all the reasons for the formation of this phenomenon:

  • Condensation always appears on a riser with a cold flow. There are two reasons for this: water leakage and from the faucet. You can hear both phenomena through the noise that the flow of fluid creates.
  • Poor functioning of the hood. Today this is the most common problem, especially this situation is typical for new buildings. It is worth considering that if installed plastic windows, then the hood does not work when they are closed. It is for this reason that a forced pulling system is required.

Attention! You can check the need for a hood in the following way: close all the windows and apply a sheet of newspaper to the grille, and you will immediately see the effect.

  • On the wiring in a private house, condensation forms on the pipes. The reasons for this are the same as for previous situations, for example, the toilet tank is leaking.

Causes of wet pipes in the bathroom

The first thing we need to do is check the ventilation, since pipes may become clogged during operation. For this process we unscrew the grille that covers the channel opening. If that was the reason. Then a craving should appear or intensify.

Another factor that should not be overlooked is the features of the riser and distribution of cold and hot sewer flow in the bathroom. Most often, additional insulation is not performed. It is worth considering that if they are very close to each other, then protection from temperature changes is simply necessary.

Very often, the formation of condensation in the bathroom or toilet is caused by a faulty faucet. If the water flow is constantly dripping, then you will pay more for your utility bills and will contribute to the acceleration of the need for repair work. It is also worth considering that mold can form, which is harmful to human health. Plus, getting rid of the unpleasant smell of dampness is very difficult.

How to get rid of condensation in the toilet

The situation with a bathtub in the toilet is similar, but it is worth considering that the second option is characterized by the presence large quantity pipes If you are going to make a sewerage system in a private house, then it is better to immediately separate the cold water riser from the hot one, or you need to insulate the pipes. Regular leakage from the toilet tank may occur.

It is worth considering that all materials have their own indicator of the ability to conduct heat. But this fact does not force you to completely replace the pipeline, for example, from cast iron products to PVC. There are many options to correct the situation. We will talk about them further in the article.

Methods for eliminating leaks

We have already found out the reasons for the formation of condensation in the toilet and bathroom. Now let's find out how to solve problems with leakage. The first thing to do is to find the location of the water flow in the system. Its formation can occur:

  • If the tap and mixer have a malfunction. In such a situation, you will see constant dripping of water from the taps.
  • In case of a breakthrough in the pipeline;
  • Fitting wear.

The biggest difficulty in determining is a pipeline break and unsuitable fittings. To identify the malfunction, you need to partially disassemble the box that covers the pipes. To make the process easier, it is better to seek the help of professionals. Specialists can easily determine the problem using thermal imagers - special equipment. It is worth noting that both options require cash investments. When you discover a leak, you can do the following repair steps:

  • The gasket needs to be replaced. A set of tools for work can be purchased at any specialized store. To make a purchase, you need to know information about the brand and manufacturers of the faucet. This work you can do it yourself.
  • If after the repair procedure nothing has changed, then it is necessary to replace the mixer.

If the sewer system pipeline in a house is leaking, the following measures can be taken:

  • Replace the area of the system with problems. To complete the work, you need to cut out a section of the leaking pipe and install a new part. In most cases, if there is a metal pipeline, the help of specialized equipment will be useful. To do this, you can order a car from a specialized company.
  • Install a plug on the pipe in the place where there is a water leak. It is worth noting that this method is less effective, so it should not be used.

Replacing fittings on a pipeline is not difficult. To do this, you need to remove the unusable part and replace it with a new one. Before starting such work, it is necessary to shut off the water supply to the house.

Troubleshooting ventilation problems

Getting rid of condensation due to poor functioning of the ventilation system is quite simple. To do this, you can use the following methods:

  • Use the services of specialists. Who will come and diagnose and clean the ventilation in the house. It is worth noting that such a service should be performed free of charge, as this is provided for by the warranty standard.
  • But it happens that even after cleaning the mines, the condensate does not disappear. For this reason, you need to install an additional fan in the bathroom. Such a device can either be turned on as needed or used constantly.

Pipeline thermal insulation

The most basic way is to purchase special factory materials. It is worth noting that any thermal insulation material can be used to insulate the pipeline. If you can’t afford the purchase, then the task can be accomplished in the following ways:

  • You can use a plastic pipe and foam for installation. To do this, you need to cut the insulation so that you can wrap the pipe. Fill the space between the pipes with foam.
  • It is possible to use old rags and special putty. To do this, we sand the pipe to remove rust and apply the first coat of putty. And we do this several times.

So we found out why condensation forms on the sewerage pipeline. Now you also know ways to solve this problem, so operating the water supply system will become more comfortable.

When condensation forms on cold water pipes, an experienced plumber will always tell you what to do. But there are times when it is not possible to seek the help of a professional, so it is important to know why this phenomenon occurs and how to deal with it.

Causes of condensation

Moisture can appear on both metal and plastic surfaces. The reasons that cause it are equally removable, regardless of the fact. Thus, the accumulation of condensate is promoted by:

  • poor or no ventilation;
  • water stagnation;
  • faulty plumbing;
  • temperature difference;

If condensation is detected on cold water pipes, what to do must be decided immediately. An unresolved problem not only causes aesthetic unsightliness, but can also damage the pipes.

Excess moisture can appear due to sudden temperature changes and excessive humidity. To eliminate the problem, it is necessary to establish a ventilation system, and after taking a bath, leave the door open to ventilate the room.

In the toilet common cause"crying" pipes is the leakage of water in the tank. The mechanism is simple: the water is constantly renewed and does not have time to warm up before room temperature. Thus, the pipe remains cold and the room is warm. As a result, excess moisture appears.

Consequences of unresolved condensation

In places where, as a rule, air humidity is always high. But if the indicators go beyond the critical level, then it is possible unpleasant consequences both for pipes and living people.

  • Formation of mold and mildew. When condensation on plastic pipes is constantly present, droplets of water flow down the walls and fall on the floor. As a result, a favorable environment is created for the development of pathogenic bacteria, which threatens the appearance of mold. In conditions of constant humidity, the fungus begins to multiply intensively and then it will be very difficult to get rid of it.
  • Damage to property. Constant contact with water will definitely spoil everything in the room. Metal pipes rust quickly, plastic ones lose their consumer properties. Ceramic tile may eventually fall off, and the paint and putty may crack.

To avoid this, you need to know how to remove condensation from cold water pipes and fix the problem in time.

Finding out the cause of the problem

Before you fight water droplets on pipes, you need to figure out why they appear. To eliminate condensation on cold water pipes, what to do in such cases is determined by the reason for its appearance.

If this is a leak, then at night, when the movement of water stops, you can hear a quiet dripping. Therefore, it is worth finding the place where the water is leaking, eliminating it, and the problem with condensation will be solved by itself.

If moisture accumulates on the tank hose and parts of the system close to it, there is probably a problem in the system of the tank itself. Due to the constant presence and relatively warm room, condensation forms. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a drainage system.

When all systems are working properly and the plumbing is in order, you need to check the ventilation. It is enough to place a sheet of paper on the vent and if it falls, clean it immediately. It often happens that this measure alone is enough to completely prevent the problem.

IN summer time When the room is hot and cold water is running through the pipes, condensation is an indispensable attribute. IN in this case Eliminating too sharp a temperature difference between the outside air and the water in the pipes will help. Moisture-absorbing medications can come to the rescue.

Pipe routing problem

When the cause of droplets on pipes is faulty plumbing or poor ventilation, then it is clear to any average person what to do. But what to do when the source is a technical reason. Often in apartments, hot and cold water supply pipes run too close to each other. Under such conditions, it is clear why condensation appears on the pipes again and again, despite good exhaust and the serviceability of all systems.

If the wiring is in the public domain, you should definitely take care of thermal insulation. But in the case where the network is hidden, you will need the help of a specialist who will solve the wiring geometry. In any case, drastic repair work is needed.

Thermal insulation material is used both special and made from improvised materials. Regular corrugation will do and polyurethane foam. In this case, the corrugation is cut to the required sizes and put on problem areas. Where there are unfilled spaces, polyurethane foam comes to the rescue.

If plastic pipes “cry”

When the house has pavement, the question of how to get rid of condensation is solved as follows:

  1. It is advisable to replace the conventional hood with a built-in fan.
  2. Carry out insulation measures using special tubes with an incision. They are easy to purchase at any plumbing or hardware store. These tubes are made of polyethylene, energyflex and effectively protect the pipes. the main condition for their use is careful preparation of the pipes so that they are completely dry.
  3. In the case of plastic highways, you can radically solve the problems of “crying” if you treat them with a projector primer. After complete hardening they can be painted oil paint. This method is suitable if there is an unavoidable, constant and sharp temperature difference in the room.

Please note that cold water pipes can be coated with any enamel, and the hot water supply system can only be painted with oil paint.

Getting rid of moisture on metal pipes

A problem with metal systems no less acute, because excess moisture threatens the formation of corrosion and complete wear of the pipes. Therefore, if condensation appears on cold water pipes, we will describe in detail what to do:

  1. The pipes are cleaned of rust, completely dried and coated with oil paint.
  2. Carbolate, a paste-like substance, is used to treat all kinds of cracks in the floor and walls. After complete hardening, it is also coated with oil paint.
  3. The entire water line is treated with a projector primer and then covered with enamel.

It should be remembered that the problem of condensation is often quite difficult to solve, so it is better to prevent its occurrence than to deal with the consequences later.

Experts who often deal with “crying” pipes have gained extensive experience in preventing the problem in the bud.

Should be purchased at the Corrugated plumbing store. The substance is applied to the entire surface of the pipes, resulting in the formation of a strong and elastic base that prevents the accumulation of moisture.

Good effect also brings liquid thermal insulation. It is applied to completely dry pipes and prevents sudden temperature changes that cause condensation.

If there is a large difference between the air temperature and the supplied water, it is necessary to insulate the pipes. The most effective and suitable material for these purposes is which is sold in any hardware store at a very affordable price. The material is fixed using a clamp and ordinary wire.

Fogging can be eliminated using the proposed methods, but which method to choose must be decided after the exact cause has been determined.

Damp pipes in a private house

Condensation on pipes in a private house is mainly formed due to an insufficient ventilation system. Therefore, if the house is only at the construction stage, you should immediately take care of a strong hood. Before installing the pipeline, it must be thermally insulated. It is especially worth paying attention to this if hot and cold water supply pipes are located in close proximity.

An insufficient system is a common cause of condensation. Therefore, to avoid problems with this factor, it is worth paying attention to it.

For diagnostics, specialists are involved who, if necessary, will carry out cleaning. If the problem cannot be solved, you will have to install an additional exhaust duct. The ventilation system in a private home often allows you to do this without much damage or high costs.

Thermal insulation of pipes

It is better to insulate all pipes in the house. For these purposes, specialized materials are purchased. But you can use the means at hand and rid your house of constantly wet pipes.

An ordinary plastic tube is cut lengthwise and placed on the problem area. The space between the pipes is filled with polyurethane foam.

A metal pipe can be easily secured with an old rag. To do this, we get rid of the rust, dry the pipe and wrap it with rags.

Why does condensation appear on cold water pipes, what to do in this case? Condensation is a common problem, and it can appear on both metal and plastic pipelines. At first glance, the problem is insignificant, but over time it causes a lot of trouble in the form of rust, mold and an unpleasant odor. That is, you still need to get rid of condensation. To do this, you need to find out the reasons for its appearance. Why do pipes sweat?

Why does condensation appear on cold water pipes?

Most often you can see condensation on the pipes in the toilet. One of the reasons is a water leak in the tank. The water is constantly changing and does not have time to warm up, hence the humidity. We get rid of the leak in the tank - this reason will disappear.

Sometimes puddles appear near the riser due to excessive humidity. This means that the neighbors living above have a leak in the tank. At night, listen to the gurgling of water in the sewer, and you will immediately understand everything.

Condensation also forms due to high humidity and temperature changes. To avoid condensation, you need good ventilation. To start, simply leave the toilet door open overnight; you may find a dry pipe in the morning.

The reason is obvious - the ventilation pipeline is clogged. Unscrew the grille to ventilation duct and clean everything very well. A draft should appear in the ventilation duct.

If there is ventilation, but it does not cope with the problem, you can install exhaust fan. It attaches in place of the vent and you turn it on as needed.

The choice of fans in modern construction supermarkets is huge, for every taste and at any price. IN Lately The installation of such fans in toilets and bathrooms is very common.

How to fix the condensation problem

How to get rid of condensation on pipes in the bathroom? The pipes in the bathroom also sweat. The reason may be similar. Condensation on the riser means problems with the neighbors' plumbing. The pipeline supplying water to your plumbing becomes wet; the faucet is not working properly. The absence of a hood, as in the first case, aggravates the problem.
If hot and cold water systems are very close to each other, fogging cannot be avoided.

It is necessary to insulate the pipes; this is an excellent protection that will remove condensation.

Often condensation forms on the pipes in the bathroom due to a faulty faucet. Leakage of water helps to cool them. There is only one way out - faucet repair!

How to get rid of condensation? Pipe insulation will completely eliminate fogging of pipes. It is necessary to isolate cold water pipes from interaction with external environment. There are special thermal insulation materials that can be used to rid pipes of condensation. You just need to buy such material and insulate the pipelines. The abundance of such materials in the construction materials market is very large.

If you prefer a budget option to eliminate moisture on pipes and do not plan to purchase expensive thermal insulation material, you can use other ways. It is necessary to purchase a container of polyurethane foam and a plastic pipe or corrugation, the diameter of which exceeds the diameter of the pipe with condensate. The corrugation or pipe is cut into pieces so that they can be put on the problem pipe, then they are put on and the voids are filled with foam.

There is another budget option for getting rid of condensation. You will need sandpaper to remove rust and acetone to thoroughly degrease the problem surface afterwards. It is best to treat the pipeline with phosphoric acid and then apply a layer of epoxy putty on it so that it does not drain.

Then immediately wrap the pipeline with previously prepared strips of fabric so that the material is saturated with putty. You can use an old sheet by cutting it into bandage-like pieces. The putty and fabric will harden quickly.

You can do this several times in the same way. The work ends with the application of finishing putty. It will look aesthetically pleasing if the putty is sanded and coated water-based paint the color you need.

In most cases, insulating pipes can solve the problem of condensation, but sometimes the level of humidity in a house or apartment is so high that waterproofing the floors and walls is necessary.

The occurrence of condensation on cold water supply pipes is quite common. Both metal and plastic pipes are most susceptible to moisture in the summer: to effectively overcome this problem, it is important to understand the exact cause of its origin.

Why does condensation occur?

The main reasons for dampening a cold pipeline:

  1. If we are talking about a cold water riser, then condensation will form on a constant basis, until puddles appear on the floor. The reason may lie in a leak in one or more pipes in the upper neighbor's apartment. Often the whole problem is in an unreliable toilet tank. To find out this, it is best to choose night time, when it is possible to clearly hear the drops falling along the sewer riser. Condensation usually does not occur on hot water pipes.
  2. When absent exhaust ventilation. The same may be due to interruptions in its work. New buildings or homes with metal-plastic windows often suffer from this problem: in such cases, there may be a lack of exhaust hood if the windows are tightly closed. To determine the difference, a simple experiment is carried out by applying newspaper to the ventilation grille, opening and then closing the windows. If there is no exhaust ventilation, sometimes an additional fan is powerless.
  3. If there is the formation of condensation on plastic pipes that are included in the apartment wiring, quite often the reason lies in the breakdown of the plumbing fixture, with insufficient or completely absent exhaust hood.

Condensation on the pipes in the toilet

Condensation on cold water pipes in the toilet can occur due to high humidity or temperature fluctuations. If this problem is detected, the ventilation is first checked: to do this, you can leave the door to the room open at night. If during this time the moisture on the pipes disappears, then the problem is poor ventilation. Another one potentially possible reason– constant flow of water through the tank.

This has the effect of cooling the pipe, since there is no time left to heat the water inside it. As a result, the pipe surface becomes a comfortable place for moisture condensation. Usually, after repairing the taps and inlet valve, the problem disappears.

Condensation in the bathroom on cold water pipes

Before starting repair work, it is important to accurately determine the cause of the problem, which usually consists of the following:

  • When a riser pipe gets wet, it’s usually a matter of leakage from the neighbors above.
  • If a pipe near a plumbing fixture gets wet, then the reason lies in a faulty faucet.
  • If problems with ventilation are detected, work will need to be done to remove blockages blocking the hood.

If condensation appears on the pipes in the bathroom: what to do in such cases? When listing ways to eliminate condensation, one cannot help but recall thermal insulation, which quite effectively helps with this problem.

If this material is not available, simple polyurethane foam can replace it. To do this, take a corrugated pipe with a diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the problem pipe and cut it into separate sections convenient for installation on the communication line. After putting on the corrugation inner space foams.

How to install thermal insulation yourself

Insulating cold water pipes from condensate is quite easy to do yourself.

To do this you will need the following consumables:

  • Sanding paper.
  • Rust converter.
  • Strong thick thread.
  • Fabric strips 50-60 mm wide.
  • Epoxy putty.
  • Acetone.
  • Spatula.

  1. Sand the insulated section of the pipeline to improve its adhesive properties.
  2. Pouring a little acetone onto a rag, degrease the surface.
  3. To protect against corrosion, use phosphoric acid.
  4. After the pipe is completely dry, apply to its surface epoxy putty thick consistency (it is important that the material does not drain)
  5. Without waiting for the substance to harden, you need to quickly wind the fabric using good tension. To fix the last turn, a prepared thick thread is used. During this procedure, it is very important that the turns of fabric completely overlap each other, and the putty completely saturates them.
  6. After waiting until the putty has completely dried, you need to apply a couple more layers of thermal insulation using the same scheme. The final coating will be a layer of epoxy material.
  7. Once the finish is dry, the pipe can be sanded and painted.

Elimination of condensate on the pipeline

To eliminate this unpleasant phenomenon, we can use one of the following methods:

  1. Troubleshooting ventilation system problems. Insufficient ventilation can not only lead to condensation on the pipes: it is important to remember that such conditions can cause mold, which is very harmful to breathe and can cause many diseases. To enhance passive ventilation, an additional forced manual fan is usually used. In addition, automation can be installed, which can be activated using a timer or hygrometer.
  2. The reason may also lie in large differences temperature regime indoors and plumbing: because of this, surfaces with which cold water comes into direct contact fog up. In the future, the accumulation of moisture can develop into streams flowing onto the floor. In this case, good thermal insulation of the cold pipeline helps, which is most easily done using a special tubular material (thermoflex, energy flex, foamed polyethylene). This insulation is available in several sizes. When selecting, you need to focus on the internal diameter, which should be equal to the diameter of the pipeline. The tube is cut along its entire length, followed by pulling it onto the pipe and gluing the seam. For these purposes, it is best to use special metallized permanent tape.

The indoor microclimate is often directly affected by weather conditions in the form of prolonged rains, or the specifics of the local climate. This is especially true for areas near large rivers, lakes, seas or oceans. In this case, even the highest quality waterproofing of the house will not help: it is much more effective to use dehumidifiers or air conditioners that have a similar function. It should be said that the struggle to normalize humidity inside the home is useful not only from the point of view of combating condensation: it will also have a beneficial effect on the safety interior decoration and the health of the inhabitants of the house.
