But even if the apartment is suitable, it is not a fact that the application will be selected - you still have to go through a casting. At the casting, you are asked to tell the camera about yourself, about the apartment, reasons for participation and wishes for renovation. Many people are nervous and their application is rejected.

For Andrei Belkovsky, the casting was easy. The main thing is to be in a friendly mood. The Belkovskys said that in 2009 their daughter was born. Doctors recommended that they spend more time in the fresh air. But the country house, which is 60 years old, has not been renovated for a long time. Andrey decided to apply for the “Dacha Response”.

The next stage of selection is coordination of the renovation project with the designer. He must inspect the housing and decide whether he can come up with something interesting that the participants would also like. Sometimes candidates are eliminated at this stage.

The filming, in which the owners need to participate, takes two full days. At the beginning they film how they spend time in the house, at the end – how they react to changes. Many episodes are filmed multiple times.

The only moment that is really filmed once and in the first take is the first entry into the room. “They don’t force you to admire,” says Belkovsky. “They just give instructions before entering about which words are best not to use.”

Not everyone likes the final renovation.“After their renovation, we made our own,” says Anastasia Trofimova, whose nursery was remodeled by the “School of Repair” in 2006. Some parts of the interior were falling off, the walls were not painted.

Not everything went smoothly for the Belkovskys either. They shortened and welded the battery incorrectly, and a leak appeared. The owners noticed this only after three months. “Despite this, I consider participation in the program a gift from fate,” says Andrey. “It’s rude to complain when you’ve had free repairs done.”

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

At least three living rooms in an apartment or house. The exception is the Clean Work program.

To carry out reconstruction or redevelopment the owner will need to present such documents:

• Application for work;
• Papers confirming ownership of real estate;
• Technical certificate;
• Written consent of all persons permanently residing with the owners, as well as the tenant of the residential premises (if there is one) and members of his family;
• A document confirming the positive decision of the body for the protection of architectural heritage (if required).

Government authorities are given 45 days to consider the application. Once a decision has been made, it will be communicated to the applicant within three working days.

In case of refusal, the authorities are required to indicate the reason for such a decision (most often it is failure to provide the necessary papers or lack of grounds for reorganization).

Service cost

For carrying out redevelopment to the owners of the dacha you won't have to pay a penny. However, we cannot exclude the possibility of other expenses and risks:

• If housing is the only one, then it is necessary to take into account the cost of living in rented housing. Two months of repairs will cost the family 80-100 thousand rubles (subject to renting a two-room Moscow apartment);
• The vision of an invited designer may seem too bold to the home owner. Remodeling the entire room or its individual elements can cost from several tens to hundreds of thousands of rubles;
• A risk that is rather theoretical. A television company may mistakenly carry out work that violates someone's property rights or current legislation. The burden of returning the premises to its original condition will be placed on the homeowners. Subsequently, the costs can be recovered from the culprits in court, but this is time, and time is money.

In all other respects, there is no need to worry: participation in the program promises continuous advantages. Free repairs can increase the value of a property by 20%. The resulting value can be obtained by selling the dacha.

The beginning of this story came out of nowhere. Literally! A beam collapsed at the dacha and almost killed me. Realizing that it was impossible to live in such conditions and the house urgently needed repairs, I decided to write a letter to TV.

Everyone who has a dacha in the Moscow region, deep down, dreams of getting into one of the design reality shows. The most popular are “Dachnaya Otvet” on NTV and “Fazenda” on First. The “answer” is on a large scale: along with the repairs, people’s windows are replaced and their walls are insulated. “Hacienda” is no less popular, but offers participants a more modest renovation.

Application

First, our family sent a letter to Channel One. According to the rules, a photo of the dacha and family must be attached to the application. It was decided to take a general shot in which we would appear as such stars. We spent the whole evening struggling with the perfect family photo. We were very tired and quarreled. “Happier, even happier!” - the father commanded, after these words I wanted to hit him with that same beam.

Answer

Week after week passed, but there was no return call. Then we decided to send a completed application to the “Dachny Response” program. And - lo and behold! — literally a few days later they called us and invited us to the casting.

Selection

This word “casting” sounded more threatening to us than the exam and interview combined. The task was very simple. All family members had to talk interestingly about themselves, home, profession, hobbies and family traditions for 10-15 minutes. Realizing that this was our chance and there wouldn’t be a second one, we gave it our all. Of course, we had to embellish it a little... Do you ski? Say that you are an avid extreme sports enthusiast. Do you cross stitch? You will be a craftswoman. Do you keep the forest clean? Call yourself an environmentalist.

Conditions

After all, casting takes place not only in people, but also in homes. At first glance, the requirements are simple. The house should be located no further than 50 km from Moscow, the presence of communications is welcome. The room for renovation should not be less than 16 square meters, but not more than 35.

Main character

The producers of the project were most interested in our attic - the strangest and rather ridiculous room in the house. During numerous reconstructions, it acquired an absolutely fantastic appearance. The ceiling height in it varies from 1.5 to 5 meters, and the number of partitions and nooks cannot be counted at all. “An excellent task for our architect Andrei Volkov,” the producer immediately noted... As a result, our efforts and the “efforts” of the attic were not in vain. A week later the call came: “You have been selected to participate in the project!”

Layout

To begin with, the architect Andrei Volkov and the producer of the show came to us to listen to our wishes. We have listed everything possible.

- We, please, have a chalet with climate control, a fireplace... Yes, and don’t forget to add a balcony! - we became insolent.

I wanted to wish as much as possible, so to speak, in reserve - with the hope that at least half would come true. The architect listened to us carefully, but planned only what fit into the budget known only to him. At the next stage, Andrei Volkov had to draw a project and have it approved by the producers. This usually takes a few more weeks. And only after the rework has been approved and the estimate has been signed, does the “magic of television broadcasting” begin.

Oh times...

“Dachnaya Otvet” is on the air for an hour. During this time, on the screen, peeling little rooms turn into luxurious modern interiors. It seems to TV viewers that all this happens in just a couple of days. In fact, it takes months!

Typically, characters take part in three days of filming. One is allocated to the dossier, where they show all family members and talk about their hobbies. We had to demonstrate what we talked about so enthusiastically at the casting. It was probably in vain that they exaggerated their talents so much... My husband had to dive in a scuba suit into a local pond to demonstrate how he extremely cleans up garbage at the bottom.

...Oh morals!

The second day was devoted to filming a long interview with host Andrei Dovgopol and the start of repairs. We felt like real TV stars. A film crew of ten people came to us. The spotlights blinded our eyes, we were filmed with two cameras at once, and the stylist periodically corrected the makeup.

Official

The third day of shooting awaited us in the distant future - after the rework was completed. But we didn’t leave the dacha. Immediately after the presenter said goodbye to us and closed the gate, we had to sign a lease agreement for the premises, which according to the papers was now called “scenery”. We spent a few more days preparing the house for renovation. We had to pack our things and prepare sleeping quarters for the workers. Only after this our family handed over the keys to the construction team and left the house with heavy hearts.

Difficulties

The repair turned out to be a very unpredictable process. According to the plan, the workers had to install skylights. But when repairmen opened the roof, it turned out that it needed to be seriously strengthened. But such work cannot be done in winter. And the repairs were postponed for six months - until spring. In May, renovations began again. But life made its own adjustments again. There was a crisis in the country - and the estimate, as it turned out, was greatly reduced. During the renovation we had three teams of workers. We have already begun to worry that the project will not be closed at all. Otherwise we’ll be left with an attic stripped down to the bricks. However, everything worked out. True, instead of the planned 2 - 3 months, the remodeling at our dacha ended up taking exactly a year.

To prove that the family of participants closely monitors the environment, the head cleaned the bottom of the pond closest to the dacha.

Spies

According to the terms of the project, we were not supposed to appear at the dacha during the renovation. But curiosity still prevailed. Several times our family came to visit our neighbors, from where we could see new dormer windows appearing on the roof. The neighbors periodically informed us: last week a car arrived with the sign “Warm ceiling”, and this week it said “Furniture”. So we could keep abreast of the progress of work based on traffic flow.

Finish line

And now it has arrived, the long-awaited day of the finals. Finally we will see what we have come a long way for. During this time, we did not miss a single episode of the show and tried on design solutions with great excitement. Yes, not everything was to our liking. “What if the wallpaper is pink?” — every now and then my father’s nerves gave way. We decided to thoroughly prepare for the final shooting. The parents were very afraid that they would get confused and forget the words. To avoid losing face, they spent hours repeating phrases like “progressive design solutions” and “extruded polystyrene foam.”

Present

By tradition, project participants, in gratitude to the presenter and designer, give cakes with the inscription “Dacha Response.” We decided to break tradition and ordered a cake with the inscription “Dachny greetings.” And to completely blow everyone away, my father ordered a T-shirt with a portrait of presenter Andrei Dovgopol. The director even praised us for our creativity.

Bottom line

Drum roll - we find ourselves in our attic. Previously, it was upholstered with clapboard in the best traditions of Soviet country houses and filled with old furniture that was “written off” from a city apartment. The eyes are blinded by the spotlights and the new stylish lighting at the same time. It is very difficult to immediately assess the alteration. Emotions come from the long wait. The room turned out to be very competently and professionally insulated and renovated. It was simply impossible to do repairs of this level on our own. And now we are already thinking: shouldn’t we take part in another reality show? I have nothing to wear. I’ll go write a request to “Take it down immediately!”
