Rolled roofing and waterproofing material, built-up bicrost. Bikrost HPP - what is it? Bikrost HPP: characteristics, roll weight. Bikrost HKP: technical characteristics

The modern construction industry strives to keep up with the various ideas of designers and architects and is therefore regularly updated with various modern materials which are manufactured using the most innovative technologies.

A striking example of such a material is Bikrost waterproofing, which is successfully used not only for roofing works, but also for vapor and waterproofing of underground or aboveground parts various building structures. In addition, it is actively used during roofing work with a slight slope; work during the restoration of old roofs is greatly facilitated.

Description

Bikrost is a modern economy-class waterproofing coating, which is made by applying a special binder based on oxidized bitumen to a non-rotting base (regular or perforated fiberglass, fiberglass).

The kit with the rolls should also include a wooden or metal hook, with the help of which the roll is subsequently rolled out.

Bikrost is produced with two types of coatings:

  • Polymer film - used for waterproofing or used for the lower layers of roofing carpet.
  • Coarse-grained coating - used mainly for the upper layers of roofing carpet. Mostly shale, sand or asbagal are used as toppings.

Thanks to several types, it can be used during repairs, construction of buildings or various structures, as well as for waterproofing various designs such as tunnels or bridges. It is fused using a specialized propane torch, blowtorch, or technical phenol. In some cases, the material can be glued to the base using specialized bitumen mastics based on various polymers.

During restoration repairs, bicrost is applied in one layer, with major renovation or when organizing a new carpet, then use two layers. Beautiful appearance modern coating allows the material to be used for waterproofing and in visible areas without additional costs for improvement appearance, which allows you to reduce financial resources for finishing.

The thickness of the material allows not only to reduce the layers of the waterproofing carpet, but also to protect and simplify the installation process itself, as well as significantly save money.

  • Use exclusively on roofs that have a rigid base;
  • Bikrost with a polyester warp is less elastic;
  • It is necessary to fuse it quite carefully, otherwise it can be burned out - the weight of the welded mass weighs no more than one and a half kilograms.
  • When using a material, it is necessary to combine it correctly, for example, CCP and TPP.
  • Before working with Bikrost, the cement screed must be thoroughly cleaned of various debris and dust. Then the surface needs to be primed with special compounds and left until the primed surface is completely dry.
  • It is strictly forbidden to walk on freshly laid material to avoid the appearance of various coating defects.
  • When laying two layers of Bikrost at the same time, the material for the bottom layer is used with a double-sided film coating, and only the necessary topping is laid on it.
  • You can work with it at a temperature of no more than -15 C, after which the bitumen layer becomes brittle.

If all operating tips are followed, this waterproofing material can last up to ten years.

Specifications

Bikrost is a soft roof that has the best technical and operational qualities, which is confirmed by a quality certificate and full compliance of the materials used for production, and the entire technological process is carried out according to GOST standards.

The insulator is supplied in rolls, the width of which is one meter, and the length of the sheet can vary from seven to fifteen meters. The weight of the roll is from 30 to 40 kg and depends on the variety. The thickness of Bikrost K is 3.7 mm, and the thickness of the web with fine-grained topping is 2.7 mm.

The main qualities of this insulator are cost-effectiveness, flexibility, high waterproofing properties, increased heat resistance, and fire safety (it does not burn and ignite well). The calculation of the required amount of substance depends on the required overlap of the canvases on each other (minimum 8 cm).

Markings and symbols

During material marking main feature is its further purpose. If it is used for waterproofing the upper roof, then the letter “K” is stamped, but if for the lower roof or to create a moisture barrier on various building structures, then the letter “P”.

The next three letters indicate what material the front side protective layer is made of, the last letter indicates the protection of the underside.

The second letter in the marking means what the type of base is made of - standard fiberglass fabric is stamped with the letter “C”, frame fiberglass - with the letter “T”, fiberglass - “X”, polyester non-woven fabric “E”, special cardboard “O”. In addition, when marking, they sometimes indicate the weight of 1 m2 in kg, the color of the granulate, as well as the specifications according to which Bikrost was manufactured.

Today there are two types, which not only differ from each other in their protective layer, but also in their scope of application:

  • Bikrost K - it is most suitable for covering the top layer of roofing carpet, since it outer side has a protective coating made of coarse granules (slate or granulate), which, in turn, protects against ultraviolet rays and various mechanical damage.
  • Bikrost P or Bikrost M are used primarily for waterproofing building structures or to cover the lower layer of the roof in multi-layer installation. This material has a double-sided coating of fine sand or polymer film.

Bikrost "TechnoNIKOL"

Insulating material of this brand can be used to protect not only the roofs of structures and buildings, but also various building structures from moisture. It allows you to significantly reduce the layers of waterproofing carpet, significantly protect and facilitate the installation process, and also reduce financial costs by fusing the fabric.

You can work with it in absolutely all climatic regions that are permitted according to SNiP 23-01.

Bikrost HPP: technical characteristics

This variety has a fiberglass base, which means that it must be used in building structures that do not have a large load on the surface. In connection with which there is no need for additional material based on fiberglass and therefore reduces financial costs. If it is used as roof waterproofing, then this material will simultaneously protect the top layer from moisture.

CPP is used during roof waterproofing work, and it is distinguished from other varieties by the presence of fiberglass in the base. It is a budget option material due to the substance that is applied to the base. The service life is approximately five years. During transportation and storage of CPP, the canvas does not stick together due to the coating of a specialized film.

The material is used when laying the roof as a lining, floors between floors, for better waterproofing different rooms and premises during the construction of a horizontal foundation.

When laying the roof, it is necessary to use HKP to cover the top layer of the carpet.

The basis of Bikrost XPP is fiberglass, and its rupture is more likely than the basis of other materials, however, this does not affect the waterproofing properties at all and they are also quite high.

Bikrost TPP: technical characteristics

Bikrost TTP is most suitable for waterproofing building structures where a serious load on the surface is required. It can be used as a lining material for the lower layer of the roof in combination with Bikrost TKP, for waterproofing both vertical and horizontal foundations. Due to the low percentage of elongation, this material can also be used when working with roofs that have a significant slope.

This economy-class material has good moisture-resistant properties and can last up to seven years.

Bikrost HKP: technical characteristics

This type must be used during waterproofing of building structures where there is a serious load on the surface. It can be used for waterproofing horizontal and vertical surfaces. Used when working with roofing carpet located at an angle.

Bikrost TKP: technical characteristics

Bikrost TKP is the best option budget option. When working on waterproofing various structures, it can serve for a long time. The base made of durable fiberglass will withstand various changes in temperature and pressure, and the topping will be protected from precipitation.

GOST

The production of Bikrost must be carried out strictly in accordance with GOST 12.1.005-88 and comply with the “Sanitary rules of the organization technological processes and requirements for production equipment» No. 1042-73, approved by the USSR Ministry of Health. Bicrost modifications

Depending on the type of base, protective layers and scope of application, the following types of Bikrost differ:

  • Bikrost HPP is a material based on fiberglass, coated on both sides with a polymer film. Used as the bottom layer of roofing carpet, as well as for waterproofing foundations and various rooms, where there is no heavy load on the surface.
  • Bikrost HKP is a material based on fiberglass, coated with a polymer film on one side and coarse-grained coating on the other. Used as the top layer of roofing on small slopes. Does not withstand heavy loads.
  • Bikrost TPP is a fiberglass-based material coated with a low-melting polymer film on both sides. Thanks to its strong base, it is used as a lining waterproofing layer on any flat surfaces: foundations (can be used vertically), under a loaded screed, underground garages, vaulted, inclined and used roofs.
  • Bikrost TKP is a fiberglass-based material coated with a polymer film on one side and coarse-grained coating on the other. Used to construct the top layer of roofing carpet. The material is laid on the roof in two or three layers, which ensures reliable waterproofing roofing and smoothes possible defects installation
  • Bikrost should only be used for waterproofing roofs on a rigid base if the roof is designed to last no more than 5-8 years.
  • For maximum savings, you can combine Bikrost HKP + Bikrost TPP. The bottom waterproofing layer based on fabric will provide sufficient strength to the roofing carpet.
  • The combination of Bikrost HKP + Bikrost HPP materials is not recommended.
  • The material requires special care when fusing - the mass of the layer being deposited is only 1.5 kg and the material is easy to burn out.

Bicrost's analogs

  • Fiberglass (“Ryazan KRZ”) - fully compliant (base – fiberglass).
  • Steklomast, "Ryazan KRZ" - fully complies (base - fiberglass).
  • Better materials: uniflex, villaelast, bipole.

The roofing covering "TechnoNIKOL Bikrost HPP" in terms of its price and technical characteristics can be classified as an economy class material. The relatively low price of the KhPP canvas, from 50 to 70 rubles per m 2, is successfully combined with high mechanical characteristics canvas and bitumen layer.

Operating characteristics of TechnoNIKOL Bikrost HPP

To select the optimal conditions for roofing work, you should pay attention to the main characteristics of the TechnoNIKOL HPP material:

  • The control sample of the Bikrost HPP fabric can withstand a load of at least 30 kg in the transverse direction without violating the integrity of the reinforcing tape and the bitumen layer;
  • The high temperature and operational characteristics of the KhPP roofing sheet allow you to avoid deformation, spreading, cracking or delamination of the material. The “KhPP” sample exhibits brittleness of the bitumen layer at temperatures below 15 o C. At 0 o the sheet can still be bent on a blank with a diameter of 25 mm without much effort;
  • The insulating layer "Bikrost TechnoNIKOL HPP" shows good characteristics resistance to water absorption and water permeability. In 24 hours, the sample, completely immersed in water, managed to absorb moisture of no more than 1% of its own weight.
  • Advice! The “KhPP” roofing covering, unlike the “HKP” series, does not have a protective surface layer of powder, so you should not unnecessarily roll out the roll or step on the sheet, especially at low temperatures.

    Practical use of TechnoNIKOL Bikrost HPP waterproofing

    First of all, it should be noted that the KhPP material is very rarely used independently for arranging a soft roof. It can be used to overlap walls and cornices in the area where the roof abuts, and aprons can be applied in the contact area with ventilation pipes, aerators and other elements installed on the roof. The thickness of 2.6 mm and the absence of external powder make Bikrost HPP an ideal material for the substrate under the main layer of waterproofing made of EKP or HKP.

    If it is necessary to perform single-layer waterproofing or soft roof from “KhPP”, experts recommend that the concrete base on which “Bikrost” will be laid be thoroughly dried, heated with a burner and treated with a primer from TechnoNIKOL. This procedure helps to significantly improve the adhesion characteristics to the base, especially if it is not possible to efficiently remove moisture from a porous or cracked surface. Further, when surfacing the fabric, the primer will compact and fuse with the Bikrost bitumen layer.

    The material is sold in rolls, weighing 45 kg each. One roll contains Bikrost fabric 15 m long and 1 m wide. Warning information and information about the batch and production date must be applied to the outer surface of the roll.

    When laying the roofing covering, the edge of the sheet is turned away from the roll, the edge and base are heated to operating temperature and the material is slowly rolled out in the required direction. The characteristics of the Bikrosta bitumen sandwich allow heating to only 80 o C; at a higher temperature, the bitumen will begin to flow and expose the fiberglass frame. In addition, in order to ensure high adhesion characteristics to the stone base, heating must be carried out evenly but quickly enough.

    When settling in roofing coverings For large areas, it is more efficient to lay several rolls at the same time. This allows you to obtain a dense coating with the best adhesion characteristics.

    The “KhKP” layer is laid after checking the quality of the laid “HKP”; if necessary, the poorly adhered edge is lifted with a steel pry bar, heated with a burner and pressed with a rag for 20-30 seconds.

    Conclusion

    The service life of even a single-layer roof from Bikrost TechnoNIKOL HPP is 7 years. A double layer of “HPP” and “HKP” makes it possible to obtain significantly higher performance characteristics, so such waterproofing can last 10-12 years, with a manufacturer’s warranty for “HKP” of 10 years. Single-layer coatings are more often used on temporary structures and in roof repairs.
