Samsung microwave ovens with grill. Operating instructions, user manuals for products from manufacturers of any brands. Disadvantages include:

Some people still consider a microwave oven an unnecessary attribute of luxury, but for many it has simply become an irreplaceable life companion. After all, this household appliance eliminates the need to stand at the stove all day and is capable of cooking solely according to the housewife’s instructions.

Cooking food in a microwave is not done by heating the air, as when cooking on a traditional stove, but by exposing the microwaves to the water molecules contained in the food. Thus, it is not the surface of the product that is heated, but its entire volume. But, as we know, it is impossible to heat water above 100 degrees, so this temperature is the maximum for any product heated in a microwave oven.

When heated to 100 degrees, food preserves more useful substances, but their taste is not as rich as those cooked in a conventional oven. Due to more gentle heating, pieces of meat, cheese, biscuits do not look as appetizing and rosy as cooked ones traditional way. That is why microwave ovens are designed, first of all, for quickly heating ready-made dishes and defrosting food.

To be able to cook dishes with an appetizing, golden-brown crust and bring their taste closer to the usual, manufacturers began to equip microwave ovens with grills. A grill is a heater that can reach very high temperatures. And where there is heating, completely different aromas and tastes arise, and the dishes turn out more tasty and appetizing in appearance.

The grill significantly expands the capabilities of the microwave oven and allows you to cook dishes with a crispy crust. It is a heating element that emits infrared radiation with a certain intensity and a certain wavelength.

In microwave ovens I use two types of grills – heating element and quartz. heating element is a metal tube that heats up to maximum temperature in about 3 minutes. A quartz grill is also a tube, but only glass, and inside it is hidden a wire made of an alloy of nickel and chromium. The quartz grill reaches its maximum temperature in one minute.

But grills differ not only in their design. Much more important is that they heat up to different temperatures: heating element – up to 650 degrees, and quartz – up to 800. In addition, a quartz grill emits radiation with a shorter wavelength, but with a greater intensity of impact on food. Therefore, grills of this type fry faster, and the food turns out much tastier. At the same time, due to the high temperature, all contaminants on the surface of a quartz grill burn out directly during its operation, so cleaning such a heating element is much easier than a heating element.

Grills are usually located at the top working chamber. Accordingly, the processed products are located underneath them. The heat generated by a heating element grill is directed both down and up, which reduces its efficiency and gives such an undesirable effect as heating the “ceiling”. The quartz grill has a reflective lid that directs heat downwards, directly onto the food.

Microwave oven grills are used in different ways. The most common option is the combined mode. In this mode, the microwave-emitting magnetron is turned on alternately with the grill. The duration of each cycle depends on the settings made to the oven. The mode can be with a predominance of grill or, conversely, microwave radiation. The combined mode speeds up the cooking process and, most importantly, makes the taste of food brighter and more familiar. The grill can also be turned on solo. In this mode, microwave radiation is not used.

Advantages of Samsung microwave ovens

The South Korean brand produces highly functional microwave ovens equipped with all the necessary options for preparing various dishes.

Among the main advantages I would like to highlight:

  • wide functionality;
  • ease of operation;
  • easy cleaning from all kinds of contaminants;
  • modern stylish design and ergonomics;
  • light weight.

microwaves Samsung is able to determine the most optimal mode for preparing any dish to make it as tasty as possible. This is primarily due to the so-called triple microwave distribution system. In stoves from other manufacturers, as a rule, only one antenna is used that emits waves.

Samsung models have three microwave sources. In addition to the main aperture antenna, two more auxiliary (slot) antennas are installed. They are located symmetrically relative to the main one. During cooking in such a microwave, food is heated evenly on all sides. This has a positive effect on its taste and also helps preserve nutrients.

The quality of dishes prepared in Samsung microwaves is also improved by such a function as automatic detection of food moisture.

The oven sensors, having received this information, determine the optimal cooking or heating mode. Thanks to this, the food will warm up well, but will not dry out. The microwave, as you know, can be used to defrost food.

Samsung stoves have a special function that allows you to perform this procedure in an accelerated manner. Products thawed in this mode do not lose either smell or taste. Moreover, they do not even need to be wetted before this process, unlike conventional defrosting. The inner walls of the working chambers of Samsung microwave ovens are covered with bioceramics. This material is very durable and does not harmful influence

for food. In addition, drops of fat practically do not stick to the bioceramic coating, which greatly simplifies oven maintenance.

Criterias of choice

  • When choosing a microwave, you should be guided by the following criteria:
  • working chamber volume;
  • microwave and grill power;
  • grill type;
  • control method;

design and additional options. Each of these criteria, to one degree or another, influences final cost

Microwave ovens: some are smaller, others are larger. Therefore, if you want to save money, you need to approach the problem of choice comprehensively. At the same time, one should not think that it is necessarily bad.

For a single person or a family of two people, there is absolutely no need for a large microwave, since it will be used at 25-50 percent, and you will have to pay a lot for it. In this case, experts recommend ovens with a volume of up to 20 liters. For a family of 3-4 people, it’s worth looking for a 20-35 liter microwave. Everything above is for large families and at a fairly high price. The higher the power, the faster the microwave will cook and heat up. , and the lower, the slower. But this does not mean that in the first case you will have to wait a minute, and in the second - an hour. Of course, the time difference is not that big. That's why

It is best to choose the “golden mean” - microwave ovens with a power of 800-850 W. Based on the control method, microwave ovens are divided into 2 categories: mechanically and electronically controlled. The first option is the simplest, but also the most reliable. Handles break much less often than buttons or touch switches. Besides,

Microwaves with mechanical controls are cheaper. As for design, you should understand that the more unusual appearance When choosing a microwave, you should consider the design of your kitchen. and don’t chase exotic things, throwing money away. The same can be said about additional options. Modern manufacturers like to equip their devices with various “bells and whistles”. But we must clearly understand: each additional option inevitably increases the cost of the entire device.

conclusions

After a detailed review of the Samsung FG 77 SSTR and FG 87SSTR models, the following conclusions can be drawn:

  • both models have excellent functionality, with which you can quickly heat up lunch or dinner, defrost food from freezer or prepare a delicious dish with a crispy crust. Both ovens have a small chamber volume, so they are intended primarily for small families;
  • microwave Samsung FG 77 SSTR Unlike FG 87SSTR has slightly higher microwave and grill power, as well as a special dish for crispy crust. The first model is controlled using sensors, and the second - buttons. At the same time, the FG 87SSTR costs a little more, which can be considered a minor drawback.

Observations show that in their attitude towards microwave ovens, our compatriots are divided into two unequal camps. The overwhelming majority were those who use the microwave only to heat ready-made dishes (in extreme cases, to defrost food). Many users, even years after purchasing a microwave oven, remain unaware of all of its documented capabilities.

Those who use microwaves “to the fullest” remain in the minority: they are aware of the presence of built-in programs, know when to use the grill and when to use convection, etc. Our review today is of a multifunctional microwave oven presented by Samsung (MC28H5013). We decided to figure out how wide the capabilities of such a device are, and how rational it is to use a microwave as a replacement for more traditional kitchen appliances.

Equipment

The microwave oven is delivered in a box made in strict color scheme: on a cardboard background, images and text information are printed in black, from which the user can familiarize themselves with the main functions of the microwave oven.

Judging by this “Spartan” design, the box is not intended for display, and its purpose is exclusively functional: to keep the device safe and sound until it is unpacked. In addition to thick cardboard, foam inserts are used to protect the oven.

Opening the box, inside you can find:

  • the oven itself;
  • two frying racks (high and low);
  • instructions (aka recipe book);
  • warranty card.

The set also includes standard elements such as a glass tray and a rotating ring underneath. In general, as we see: there is everything you need here, and nothing superfluous.

Inner covering material

The inner walls of the chamber are covered with bioceramic enamel, which, according to the manufacturer, serves as protection against bacteria, is easy to clean, scratch-resistant and will last 10 years.

At the bottom there is an element made of heat-resistant plastic, on which a rotating ring and a glass tray are installed. The inner surface of the door is heat-resistant glass, seal, metal. The door mechanism has built-in interlocking contacts that will prevent you from turning on the oven with the door open, and will also pause any cooking mode when it is opened during cooking.

Control

The appearance of the microwave oven can also be called classic: it cuboid white with a glass door with black metal mesh and a control panel at the front and a steel surface at the back. The oven opens in a classic way for microwaves: you need to pull the door handle.

Control is carried out using a flat panel, in the upper part of which there is a display, in idle mode designed to demonstrate the current time, when selecting a mode, displaying the parameters already entered, and when the device is operating, showing the time remaining until the end of cooking (as well as the set temperature in the mode convection). In addition to numbers, pictograms are displayed on the display.

During operation, the microwave chamber is illuminated, so you can watch the process of preparing your dish. However, the backlight cannot be called too bright, so you need to be prepared for the fact that at first you will have to periodically look inside to check the degree of readiness of the dish. Moreover, this will have to be done much more often if cooking takes place on the upper rack, when the dish with food is difficult to see.

Understanding the controls of the Samsung MC28H5013 without reading the instructions is only partially possible. Without any problems, you can set the time, start the heating, convection or combined mode (microwave+grill/microwave+convection). For all other modes and programs, you will need instructions that contain explanations regarding what exactly is hidden under a particular program number.

The microwave oven is controlled using 17 buttons, with which you can set one of the possible operating modes (time, power, cooking method), or select a program for automatically preparing a particular dish. For defrosting, you may also need to enter the weight of the product. The buttons are easy to press, and each press is accompanied by a beep. Each button contains an icon and a text explanation in Russian. The only drawback is the lack of backlight. In low light conditions, or when the device is installed above or below eye level, you often have to look closely to see the inscriptions.

Let's list these buttons and give brief explanations:

  • Russian cuisine, Home recipes - selecting the number of a preset program designed to prepare a specific dish from the recipe book, section “Russian cuisine”;
  • Healthy eating- selecting a preset program number designed for preparing a specific dish from the recipe book, section “Healthy Eating” (cooking cereals and pasta, vegetables, fish and chicken);
  • Fermentation (dough/yogurt) - selection of program number for proofing different types dough, as well as for making homemade yogurt;
  • Convection - select convection mode (from 40 to 200 degrees, up to 60 minutes);
  • Grill - select the “grill” mode (up to 60 minutes);
  • Microwave - choice of cooking time and power (from 100 to 900 watts);
  • Quick defrosting - you will need to indicate the type of product and its weight;
  • Microwave+Grill/Microwave+Convection - selecting the appropriate combined mode (with setting the power for microwave and temperature for convection);
  • Control lock;
  • Tray rotation - (on/off);
  • Elimination of odors - microwave oven self-cleaning mode;
  • Clock - setting the time

There are also “More”/“Less” buttons, a “Select” button, a “+30 sec” button, a “Start” button and a “Stop” button, which also serves to put the device into energy saving mode.

As we have already said, it is recommended to read the instructions before starting use. In this case, it is advisable to at least “diagonally” review all sections, and not just the one that describes the procedure that the user wants to use at the moment.

Despite the fact that there are quite a lot of functions, it is difficult to get confused in them: to perform most actions, it is enough to strictly follow the instructions given in the instructions.

Microwave power levels range from low to high. As usual, the manufacturer provides a table expressed in watts, which hints that depending on the selected mode, the power actually changes. However, the results of our measurements call this assumption into question: in microwave mode, energy consumption always had only 2 gradations: maximum and minimum.

The range of temperatures set during convection is from 40 to 230 degrees (in increments of 10). This is a great spread for more than just cooking traditional dishes, but also experiment with cooking on low temperatures(including manually setting the dough proofing mode if what you need is not found in the preinstalled programs).

Instructions and recipe book

The 44-page manual contains detailed information regarding all issues that may be encountered while using the device. Here you can find recommendations regarding the choice of cookware, advice on which stand is best to cook this or that dish, how best to defrost this or that product, etc.

The instructions also include a recipe book containing 60 recipes in the “Russian Cuisine” section, 15 recipes in the “Healthy Eating” section, as well as 3 dough recipes (pizza, cake, bread) and a yogurt recipe (for the corresponding modes), 10 recipes for grilling guides, guidelines for cooking fresh and frozen vegetables, cooking rice and pasta, instructions for reheating baby food, and even special tips for melting butter or crystallized honey, making icing, or toasting almonds. It is easy to calculate that even if you cook each of the above dishes once, this diet will be enough for several months of varied nutrition.

Exploitation

Preparation for use

It is recommended to install the stove as a free-standing stove on a flat horizontal surface at a height of at least 85 cm from the floor, ensuring a gap of at least 20 cm at the top and 10 cm at the back. Obviously, a stationary place must be allocated for the unit being tested: moving the stove from place to place is a rather labor-intensive task. Before first use, it is recommended to wipe the oven with a damp cloth and remove the internal components and door seal.

The manufacturer also recommends setting the clock before use. This will not affect the quality of food preparation, and the clock will be reset to zero every time the power is disconnected. Unfortunately, this oven does not have non-volatile memory, so in the event of a power outage, the clock will have to be set again, and it will not be possible to continue executing a previously launched program.

Microwave care

All accessories - grids, baking tray, and glass disc - are easy to clean. dishwasher. The body and glass door are wiped using a damp cloth with detergent, the manufacturer categorically does not recommend using abrasives and solvents.

If there is heavy contamination, it is recommended to boil a glass of water inside the device. There is also a special “Odor Elimination” program designed to remove smoke and steam from the microwave oven after cooking is complete.

Testing

Objective tests

In the heating rate test, 500 ml of water with a temperature of 20°C is poured into a standard GOST half-liter jar, after which it is heated for a certain amount of time in microwave mode at maximum power and then, after stirring, the water temperature is measured again. You can see the test results in the table.

We also measured the energy consumption of the microwave oven in various operating modes. Here we (with the exception of sleep mode) present average values rounded to the nearest ten, which fully corresponds to both the accuracy of the equipment used and the meaning of the requirements that can be placed on such tests.

Test dishes

We decided to prepare the following as test dishes:

  • Defrosting a test sample of minced meat.
  • Baked potatoes in grill+microwave mode.
  • Grilled tomatoes in grill+microwave mode.
  • Chicken in Chinese.
  • Omelette.
  • Lemon balls.
  • Poached egg.

Defrosting minced meat

The test sample was Nikolai minced meat, already familiar to iXBT readers from previous testing, weighing 800 grams, consisting of lean beef in half with medium-fat pork. The minced meat was frozen in the form of a round lump.

On the device, the “Quick Defrost” mode was selected, the “Meat” program was selected and the weight was set to 800 grams. The built-in program decided that a little more than 12 minutes would be enough for our piece of minced meat. After some time (after about 4 minutes), the Samsung oven (MC28H5013) beeped, after which the minced meat needed to be turned over. At this point, visually the minced meat almost did not begin to defrost. After 12 minutes, we took out our test minced meat and checked how much it had defrosted.

The result did not please us: only the upper part (1.5-2 centimeters deep) was defrosted, while the central part remained frozen. It should be noted here that the developer “insured” himself for such a case and added that after completing the “Quick Defrost” program, the product should be left for 20-90 minutes. We appreciated this “knight’s move”, but as a result we were left with a slight feeling of bewilderment: what kind of “quick defrosting” is this if it can take almost two hours?

Baked potatoes in grill+microwave mode

According to the recipe, the potatoes need to be cut in half, then cooked on a high stand at 600 W + grill for 7-8 minutes. Quite a simple recipe. We took medium sized potatoes and followed the instructions exactly.

Result: edible, but not too tasty. The inside of the potatoes looked as if they were boiled, while the top part was barely browned under the influence of the grill. In our opinion, it would make sense to cook such a dish at a lower microwave power and keep it under the grill longer.

Grilled tomatoes

After the experiment with potatoes, we decided to test another recipe from the “Grill” section and opted for tomatoes with cheese. Tomatoes need to be cut in half, sprinkled with cheese on top and placed on a flat heat-resistant glass dish. Cook at 300 W + grill for 5-6 minutes, then let stand for 2-3 minutes.

The result turned out to be approximately the same as in the case of potatoes: the cheese, of course, melted and lightly fried, but the tomato halves tasted poorly distinguishable from raw ones and were more like “warmed up.” Well, after the dish cooled down, the difference turned out to be completely unnoticeable.

Chicken in Chinese

It is worth noting that this recipe was originally supposed to contain chicken wings, in the absence of which we used chicken drumsticks. For the marinade it was supposed to take 0.3 spoons soy sauce, 0.3 cups honey, 2 tbsp.

l. dry white wine, the same amount of vegetable oil, a clove of garlic and a little grated ginger.

Pre-marinated chicken pieces are cooked on a low stand using a preset program from the “Russian Cuisine, Home Recipes” set. The result turned out to be quite suitable: the chicken was evenly baked and turned out to be very tasty. No complaints.

Omelette

Another recipe from “Russian Cuisine” is a regular omelette. Three eggs, 30 grams of milk, salt. Beat and cook directly in the plate on the appropriate program. The result is below average. Upon completion of work automatic program

The omelette turned out to be frankly raw; I had to bring it to readiness manually. In addition, the bottom part of the omelette stuck to the plate, making it not very convenient to eat.

Lemon balls

They are prepared in two stages: first, the dough is mixed and balls are formed, which are cooked until the microwave signal. After this, the balls need to be greased with egg yolk, sprinkled with powdered sugar and continue cooking. Result: a feeling of bewilderment. The taste of the balls was not much different from ordinary inexpensive cookies. Quite a lot of time was spent, and the resulting portion would hardly have satisfied even two people. Does it even make sense to start cooking in order to get five cookies (mini-cupcakes)?

Rice

The rice is washed, then filled with water in a ratio of 1:2 (250 g of rice per 500 ml of water) and cooked for about 17 minutes at maximum power in a container with the lid closed.

Result: the rice was cooked perfectly. The impression was somewhat spoiled by the fact that boiling water seeped under the lid and spilled onto the rotating circle of the microwave.

Poached egg

When we started preparing this dish, we were initially set up for failure. A poached egg is not the simplest dish, and here it is also supposed to be cooked using an automatic program.

According to the recipe, you need to take 300 ml of water and add 10-15 ml of 15% vinegar. Place the bowl of water in the microwave, bring the water to a boil (the microwave itself will signal at the right moment), then stir the water until a funnel appears, beat the broken egg into it and cook until cooking is complete (i.e. until the oven signal, and not until the program runs out).

Result: excellent. We were frankly surprised at how well the program worked. Even a small amount of the water that boiled over the edge of the bowl did not mar our impression.

conclusions

We found our testing of the Samsung Grill/Convection Microwave Oven (Model MC28H5013) to be quite educational. Since the capabilities of the device are quite wide, we were able to try it in a variety of qualities. Well, availability large number recipes allowed me not to think about What exactly you can cook in it.

As a result, we were convinced that a microwave oven can serve as a full-fledged replacement oven for a small family. All declared functions work correctly, so the microwave can be used equally successfully for both heating and cooking. The presence of convection and grill, as well as the ability to combine modes, open up additional options when you need to get a golden brown crust or treat the product with hot air. The oven also allows you to defrost food, make yoghurt and proof dough before baking.

The oven is easy to use (however, you still have to read the instructions), reliable and easy to use. The quality of materials and workmanship was also up to par. Perhaps the only thing we didn’t like was the quality of the recipes and the corresponding programs. None of the dishes above inspired us enough to make us want to make them again (except maybe the poached egg). The “quick defrost” mode also turned out to be ineffective: if you plan to use a microwave oven for this task, you will have to spend some time selecting the appropriate mode.

In general, you shouldn’t expect a “feeling of a miracle” similar to that, which appeared to many people when they first got acquainted with a multicooker (you just need to cut the ingredients, and it cooks itself!).

In the case of a microwave oven (at least with the Samsung MC28H5013), this trick will not work. You will have to “get used to” this device, just as you have to get used to the features of a particular oven or hob. Otherwise, the Samsung MC28H5013 is a high-quality and multifunctional kitchen appliance that justifies its price.

Lost the instructions?

Instructions and instruction manuals for household appliances and electronics, computers, smartphones, cars, music and other equipment... Hundreds of thousands of instructions for all types technical devices for various purposes to your attention!

You can find and download for free and without registration necessary instructions instructions for use in Russian or read online, create your own list of instructions on this site for remote access (if you have registration).

For the convenience of users, the archive is divided into categories according to types of technical devices.

An easy way to find the manual you need is to simply enter the model name in the search field. If there is no result, try breaking the abbreviation into parts, that is, putting spaces between letters and numbers and pressing the search button again. Often the same model is designated differently by the manufacturer; for example, there may be spaces and dashes in the printed user manual, but not on the device itself.

Do not forget the main rule, which is usually stated at the very beginning of the document: “read this user manual before using the device...”, and this is true - this required condition will help not only to keep the equipment in proper condition for many years of operation, but also to thoroughly understand all the capabilities and functions for its full use.

One of the world's leading brands in the production of household appliances, Samsung, has pleased its consumers with the breadth model range and types of microwave ovens. Among all the variety you can find the following devices:

  • convection microwave ovens;
  • devices with grill;
  • premium series microwaves;
  • simple household devices economy class.

Thanks to this, we can safely say that every 5th kitchen is equipped with a Samsung microwave oven. The method of operation of the devices will naturally depend on its type. According to the control method, furnaces are divided into:

  • Digital. Typically, such devices contain an electronic display and control buttons. These are mid-priced devices.
  • Analog. They usually have a manual power mode switch and a timer.
  • Sensory. Premium microwave ovens. They only have one touchpad. It can be easily controlled with one touch. Such devices are more expensive than the previous two, but they have their advantages.

Instructions

So, in order to handle a microwave oven, it is important to read the instructions to the user, which indicate not only the basic requirements for operation, but also various recommendations that contribute to a longer service life. Let's consider the options for handling each of the presented types of ovens, after which we will decide on the main recommendations for use.

Digital

We decided that these are ovens whose controls are push-button. They are quite convenient and have several operating modes. In addition, the digital display may contain separate buttons for preparing various dishes. Thanks to this, you do not need to set either the power or the cooking time yourself. The electronic display displays the basic information necessary during the cooking process.

Analog

The cheapest option for Samsung ovens, however, despite their simplicity, they are quite high quality. Manual method control prevents the occurrence of system errors. As a rule, working with such a stove is quite simple. First you need to turn on the device to the network. Moreover, not all models have a power-on indicator, so its operation is checked after the timer is turned on. The knob is scrolled for the required time period, after the timer has scrolled in the opposite direction, as food is cooked, the oven will beep, in such devices it is an analog bell. The power regulator most often has 4 modes:

  • defrosting food;
  • low power;
  • average power;
  • maximum power.

Depending on what operation is required from the furnace, the power is set. Most often, heating is most optimal at medium power. To keep the food warm, low power is suitable, and cooking various dishes is good at maximum or high power.

Sensory

These are not just microwave ovens, these are “smart” devices that can not only heat and cook, but also self-clean. Samsung technology is rich in innovation. Thanks to this, today there are models in production that can perform self-cleaning with steam. There is a special command on the taskbar for this. After this you need to enable the function. After some time, the equipment will “notify” the end of cleaning with a sound signal. Then all that remains is to wipe the camera with a clean cloth.

But that’s not all; Samsung touchscreen models have a fairly large display that can show various information. This can be an indication of time (hours), temperature and power mode, air humidity, faults, etc. It is quite convenient to use a machine with such a display. In case of problems, will it show? What is the reason, helping to eliminate it more quickly.

In order to start using the touch microwave, you should clean it of any protective equipment for transportation. Attention! Films and polypropylene linings are supplied not only on top of the body, but also inside the camera. Therefore, you need to be careful, before use, clear the camera of foreign objects, and also wipe with a clean cloth. This is necessary in order to remove factory impregnation from the walls, which is used in various household appliances. After this you can use the oven.

For all types of Samsung microwave ovens there is a whole set of recommendations that are important to follow for normal operation of the equipment:

  1. The stove should only be installed on a flat, hard surface. Installation on soft fabric materials is not allowed.
  2. The distance from the wall or other perpendicular plane must be at least 20 cm.
  3. The top and sides of the microwave oven must be open. If it is placed in a special niche, it should also have holes for steam to escape.
  4. Do not place any metallized items in the microwave oven: dishes, cups, foil, etc. Even the use of dishes with a gilded pattern is not allowed.
