We suffer from laziness and relaxation - we are healed. We are sick with attraction and addiction to earthly objects - we are healed. We are sick, O Saint Panteleimon! We suffer from forgetfulness: about the matter of salvation, about our sins and weaknesses, about our responsibilities - heal us.

We are sick with resentment, anger, hatred - heal, O healer of St. Athos and the world. We suffer from dependence, pride, arrogance, exaltation, despite all the poverty and lewdness - we are healed. We suffer from many different attacks of carnality: gluttony, intemperance, gluttony, lust - we are healed.

We are sick with drowsiness, verbosity, idle talk, judgmentalism - heal us, O Saint Panteleimon! Our eyes hurt from sinful views, our ears hurt from listening to idle talk, slander, slander - heal us.

Our hands hurt because we are disinclined to pray and give alms - heal us. Our legs hurt from the reluctance to hastily go to the temple of the Lord and the desire to walk through the haystacks and visit the houses of the world - heal us.

Our tongue hurts, our lips hurt greatly: through idle talk, idle talk, slander, turning away from prayers and praises, or pronouncing them carelessly, absent-mindedly, without attention, without understanding - heal us, oh mercy!

We hurt from head to toe: our minds hurt with lack of understanding, unreasonableness and madness; Our will hurts, turning away from holy pursuits and striving for deeds that are harmful and ungodly; Our memory hurts, having forgotten our sins and containing within itself the sins and insults of our neighbors; Our imagination hurts, unable and unwilling to vividly imagine to us our death, the eternal torment of sinners, the blessings of the Kingdom of Heaven, God's wrath, Christ's suffering on the cross, His crucifixion - heal us, O Saint Panteleimon!

Everything in us hurts. Our entire soul, with all its strengths and abilities, is also weak. Our whole body with all its members is also weak.

Heal us, O Saint Panteleimon, Healer, free and loving Healer, servant Holy Mother of God, and do not leave our repentance in the majority of illnesses and in the majority of weaknesses: so that, having been healed by your grace, I will glorify the Most Holy Trinity, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit and Holy Mother of God, sending you to serve the sick, and I will thank your, O Saint Panteleimon, celibate shrine forever. Briefly about the life of Panteleimon the Healer

Panteleimon gave his entire life to God. And for his faith at the end of his life he was given a painful execution.

The Saint was born in Nicodemus (Roman Empire) some time after the Birth of Jesus Christ. Panteleimon's parents were of different religions. The father is an ardent pagan, and the mother is a Christian who, despite massive persecution, worshiped Jesus Christ.

At that time Christianity was just emerging. Many had to hide their faith in the Lord, otherwise the cruel Maximian, who then ruled the Roman Empire, could brutally deal with the disobedient.

Panteleimon gave his whole life to God

Panteleimon's father was very happy about the birth of his son and dreamed that he would one day become a military leader. However, his wish was not destined to come true, because the boy chose righteous path. She told him about Christ, instilled in him philanthropy, humility, mercy, and raised his mother as a Christian. Everything happened in secret from my husband.

When Panteleimon was in adolescence, his mother died. His father sent him to study healing with the then famous healer Euphrosynus. When Maximian learned about the young man’s talent, he immediately demanded that Panteleimon be brought to the palace. He got the chance to work as a doctor at court. However, the Lord had already predetermined his fate.

When Panteleimon was in his teens, his mother died

At that time, Christians were subjected to severe persecution. Almost all communities have already been eradicated. Only a few survived. Panteleimon met one of them. Ermolai was very wise and told a lot interesting stories about God.

Soon Panteleimon converted to Christianity. He began to help the weak and poor people free of charge. He didn't ask for anything in return. His father also abandoned paganism at that time. He also converted to Christianity and helped the poor. Many in the city were jealous of Panteleimon's abilities. This led to Maximian learning that the young man was openly preaching faith in Jesus Christ.

Soon Panteleimon converted to Christianity

The emperor invited him to the palace and suggested that he renounce the Christian God. In return, he promised to give him life and make him rich and famous. But Panteleimon refused this, for which he was thrown into prison.

During his time in prison he suffered terrible torture. They beat him with iron rods, handed him over to be torn to pieces by animals, burned his body, and doused him with hot oil.

But Panteleimon was not afraid. He continued to pray. For this, the Lord freed him from pain and death. Soon the healer was executed by cutting off his head. After death, milk flowed from his wounds, and the tree growing nearby blossomed.

Miracles performed by Panteleimon

Panteleimon became famous for his healing abilities. One day, when he was still a teenager, he came across a dead child on the road with a snake lying next to him. Instead of running away, he sat down next to him, not being afraid of the bite, and began to pray to God for the baby to be revived. The Lord heard and helped, but took the life of the snake. Then Panteleimon no longer doubted the power of the Christian faith.

Panteleimon became famous for his healing abilities

One day a blind young man came to him. Panteleimon undertook to treat him, despite the entreaties of his father, who was afraid of ridicule. He simply put his hands to his eyes, and he suddenly saw clearly. Just after this incident, the father renounced the pagan gods and accepted Christianity.

After his death, Panteleimon gave all his wealth to the poor.

Quite often illnesses overcome his close and dear people. A person will receive noticeable relief and retreat from the disease only after sincere repentance and confession, recognition of his sins. Prayer of gratitude to Panteleimon the Healer

In addition to prayers to Panteleimon the Healer, containing a request for health and healing, there is another very important prayer text. It allows you to express your gratitude to the saint for healing and alleviating suffering. Text of the prayer:

From the life of the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon

The homeland of the Healer Panteleimon is Nicomedia (located in the territory of modern Turkey). Here, in the family of a noble pagan and a secret Christian, a boy was born in the 4th century AD, who was named Pantoleon.

Pantoleon's mother wanted to raise him in the Christian faith, but her life path ended early, so the boy was raised in a pagan environment. Pantoleon graduated from a pagan grammar school, after which he studied medicine with the famous doctor of Nicomedia - Euphrosynus. There he showed his wonderful talent, thanks to which he began to work at the court of Emperor Maximian.

The turning point in Pantoleon’s life was his acquaintance with the holy martyr Ermolai, who instilled in him an interest in the Christian faith and Jesus Christ. One day on the street the young man saw a child who had died from the bite of a poisonous snake (the echidna was still next to the victim). And then Pantoleon turned to Christ with a prayer to heal and resurrect the dead child, promising to accept Christianity if his prayer was heard. A miracle happened - the child came to life, and the viper scattered into pieces.

Pantoleon fulfilled his promise: he was baptized and began to be called Panteleimon (means “all-merciful”). Having believed in Christ, the young healer learned to heal with medicine and prayers. He devoted his entire life to helping the suffering, the sick, the poor and the wretched, and he did it completely free of charge. He also visited prisoners in prisons, helped them, and treated their wounds.

People came to Panteleimon in droves, and this did not please the other healers, who carried out their work for a fee. They slandered him before Emperor Maximian.

Panteleimon was first subjected to cruel and painful torture, but nothing could break his will. Then the tormentors threw him into a cage among the animals - to be torn to pieces. However, the animals did not touch him. Then an order came from Maximian to behead the future saint. All the while the torture continued, Panteleimon frantically prayed to the Lord. When the executioner was about to cut off his head, the blade of the sword suddenly turned into wax, the heavens opened, everyone heard the voice of God, who called the martyr to the heavenly kingdom. The guards, seeing this, refused to carry out Maximian’s order, but Panteleimon himself asked them to finish what they started.

When his head was cut off, milk flowed from the wound instead of blood. Panteleimon's headless body was thrown into the fire, but it did not burn. Later, Christian believers buried him in the ground.

Since that time, the Great Martyr Panteleimon has been the intercessor of doctors and patients. Sincere prayer addressed to him strengthens the body and spirit, gives strength and contributes to the retreat of the disease.

Not many saints have gained such fame among the broad masses as the Great Martyr Panteleimon. While still alive, according to his life, he performed a miracle: he resurrected a child bitten by a poisonous snake. After that, he believed, accepted Christianity and became their greatest healer, working for free. The prayer to Saint Panteleimon, said with faith in the heart, works miracles even today.
