First, drill in the corners using a drill with a crown with a diameter of 50 mm, then make cuts between the holes with a grinder.
  4. In the upper part on the back side you need to drill or cut holes for the exit of flue gases.

A slightly more complex option involves the presence of a blower and a grate. To install the latter inside the furnace, you need to weld two corners, having previously trimmed their ends to fit against the curved wall. The grate will also need to be trimmed to give it a round shape.

We will carry out the work outdoors in close proximity to electricity and with mandatory observance of safety rules (protective suit, leggings and mask for working with a welding machine).

  1. We measure the circumference of the cauldron, according to this value we will carry out construction.
  2. Using a grinder (we use a cutting wheel for cutting metal), we cut out a rectangle from sheet steel. The long side of the rectangle should be equal to the circumference of the cauldron. Next, cut out a circle - the bottom of the oven.

Using a welding machine, we connect the steel into a cylinder, weld the bottom, then the supports and handles to the finished structure. However, the last parts of the structure can be bolted on by first drilling holes in the metal.

The simplest oven for a cauldron is ready. To protect it from corrosion, we apply several layers of heat-resistant paint. All that remains is to place a cauldron on top, light a fire in the firebox and prepare the food, everything is as simple as one, two, three!

An improved version of the cauldron stove

We supplement the design with a smoke exhaust pipe, doors, a ash pan, and a grate.

The manufacturing process is similar to the first option, but a few points will be added.

  • You will have to cut not only the combustion hole, but also the blower hole located underneath it and the hole for installing the chimney.
  • Instead of chimney slots, it is advisable to attach a metal rod to the top of the stove to strengthen the structure.
  • A grate must be secured between the combustion hole and the blower. To do this, we weld small pieces of metal corners – supports – inside the furnace.   • We make the doors from those metal pieces that remained after cutting out the holes for the vent and firebox, or we cut out new ones from steel.

It all started when, on the May holidays, I attended the birthday of a college friend. It was celebrated according to tradition at the dacha. The main treat besides shish kebab was pilaf cooked over a fire. I think many people know very well the difference between the taste of pilaf from the fire and from the stove. I always had a cauldron. But there was no stove for it... I decided that this was a very necessary thing in the household. In principle, it was possible to buy a ready-made stove. But firstly, I didn’t like 1 mm thick iron in standard products, which would burn out within a couple of years. Secondly, the price of around 5,000 rubles for such guano seemed excessive. In the third, hurt pride, the presence of hands and tools clearly pushed for creativity.
To begin with, on the basis of receiving ferrous metal, an old 50-liter gas cylinder was purchased for 500 rubles. In the household goods department, small door hinges were purchased in the amount of 4 pieces for 120 rubles and a small grate was also purchased for 120 rubles. There is always consumables in the form of scrap strips, discs for grinders and welding electrodes.

The most interesting thing was to open the balloon and not go to the forefathers. To do this, the tap was turned on with a gas key and water was poured into the cylinder in a thin stream. Now you can cut. The top part is cut off first. We don't throw it away. Perhaps it will be used for some kind of steampunk type product - a flowerpot, an urn, etc. Then the marked doors are cut out. But not completely. We weld the hinges. And then we cut the doors.

The grate is rectangular and the cylinder is round. We cover the excess section with sectors cut from the strip. They also serve as support for the grate bars.

Doors must have handles and the top one must be securely locked.

The 8 liter cauldron fits perfectly. On the right you can see a 110 mm elbow for welding. Since the smoke gases need to escape, preferably not into the cook’s face, he will be hit from behind. Manufacturing a gas oven

The body is made as described above, but with a number of adjustments:

  • cylinder height - 0.3 m;
  • lack of grate;
  • instead of two holes for the firebox and blower, one is cut out for the burner, 30 cm long And 3 cm wide.

The hole is made at the level 1-2 cm from the bottom of the body. For the burner, take a thin metal tube with a diameter 5-6 mm and twists into a spiral. The end of the tube is hammered into a spiral, and holes (burner nozzles) are made in a circle using a drill 1 mm.

The other end of the tube is retracted to a distance 30 cm from the furnace, and a special gas valve is soldered to it. Making supports, bottom and lid - like in a wood-burning iron stove.

Safe gas connection

The first connection is made in an open space, wearing safety glasses. Connection procedure:

  1. inspect all gas pipeline metal connections;

Possible difficulties

  • low quality welding seams;
  • the grate gets stuck when lowered into the cylinder;
  • lack of structural stability;
  • allocation unpleasant odor when cooking.

A common cause of poor weld welding is incorrect choice of welding electrodes. To avoid this, choosing their markings according to the thickness of the metal being welded will help.

To prevent the grate from getting stuck in the middle of the cylinder, its dimensions are selected according to 5-10 mm less than the inner diameter of the housing.
