Description: The game tells about events that happened just one year before what players could see in the original.

Money in the new game is spent much faster and more efficiently than in the first game. The player’s health in the new game is slowly restored, but bleeding has become a more formidable factor, since it does not completely go away on its own (can only be stopped with a bandage, a specialized first aid kit, or an appropriate artifact).
Static tracks were replaced by dynamic music. As the tension builds in in-game events (such as a firefight), the music transitions from melodic to intense.
A warning appears on the screen about a nearby grenade - enemies can now throw grenades at the player (in the manner of Crysis or Call of Duty).
PDA concepts have been completely redesigned. Now you can find all the information about the faction war in it, the map shows the places of the probable presence of the enemy (including mutants), and so on. Also, now there are no sections “Encyclopedia”, “Local Folklore”, “Ranks” and “Data”.
Now some characters, for an additional fee, can give leads to caches (but in this regard, there are errors in the game - the same characters can sell the discovered cache a second time, but it will remain empty and will be marked on the PDA).
Now main character can improve the weapons and armor of mechanics who are present at the base of each group (with the exception of those that are not noted on the PDA in the “Gang War” section). It should be noted that without upgrades, weapons have such low characteristics that they are absolutely unsuitable for combat. In addition, upgrades are required even for the appearance of standard functions for this weapon, for example, the ability to attach a grenade launcher to the AK-74.
Weapons and armor can be repaired by mechanics and some other characters (Forester in the Red Forest, commanders of Clear Sky units in Limansk and Hospital) for a certain price (depending on the degree of damage and the price of the weapon/armor).
In all locations (except Limansk, Hospital and Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant) there are several guides - characters who can, for a certain fee (depending on the distance), instantly escort the player to a certain place. The availability of escort to these places depends, firstly, on whether they are occupied by objects hostile to the group to which the guide belongs, and secondly, on whether the main character has been to this place before. The guides of their group, they say, accompany them for free, but for unknown reasons this rule applies only to the Clear Sky group.
There is no longer a "Beginner" rank in the game. The minimum rank is now “Experienced”. The “Beginner” rank remains only in online play.
In May 2009, the Ukrainian localization of the game was released; it can be installed on the Russian version with any patch. According to the developers, the localization “represents each group even more realistically, for example, “Dolg” speaks Russian, and the bandits mostly speak Surzhik - which adds a special flavor to the complex.”
The leader of the Clear Sky group, Lebedev, is immortal for the weapons of the Mercenary Scar. So, during the battle (and after it) for the sliding bridge to Limansk, you can shoot at Lebedev an infinite number of times from all types of weapons, and he will only issue the phrase: “Glad to meet you, Mercenary.” The hostility of the entire group does not change.
If you do not remove the weapon in time when approaching the fighters of the “Duty” group, then some of them (the head of the shooting range at Agroprom, the fighter at the outpost near the Forester’s hut in the Red Forest, etc.) with a sharp movement take away this weapon and it is impossible to return it. Considering that upgrading weapons requires significant time and money, losing a weapon in this way can negatively affect the further progress of the game.
Scar, pursuing Fang, must penetrate the basement of the flea market, which is located in the Landfill. According to the scenario, two Bandits stunned him and took away absolutely all the things that were with Scar. In the future, one of Scar’s tasks will be “Return his things.” However, if you discard all your things (including the protective suit) before entering the basement and enter it completely empty, the task “Get your things back” will haunt the player throughout the entire game until he finally kills the Bandits who attacked him.

Unfortunately, due to a bug in the latest patch, he doesn't sell you get this cache and then it dies for no apparent reason. Below I provide instructions on how to fix this annoying misunderstanding without installing any mods.

  • First, we need a resource unpacker for Stalker. There are many of them, choose according to your taste, Google will help. I used an unpacker from Dordex (again, Google to the rescue).
  • Next, we unpack the resources (read the readme for the unpacker, usually you need to specify the path to the game folder. In Steam, this is usually C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\STALKER Clear Sky).
  • After unpacking, the gamedata folder will appear (sometimes the unpacker may call it differently, this is usually written in the instructions, if so, then after unpacking, rename the folder to gamedata, otherwise the game will not see it).
  • We look for the file ui_main_menu.script (in the scripts folder), open it with notepad.
  • Looking at the end of the line
